A convocation ceremony for new guards was organized at 25th Bahini, Special Armed Forces, Bhopal on Thursday. The program started with the National Anthem and the National Anthem. Director General of Police Shri Kailash Makwana as the chief guest took salute and observed the parade.
Addressing the function, Director General of Police Mr. Kailash Makwana said that Madhya Pradesh Police has a glorious history and guards are the most important strength of the police organization. He said that after about 11 months of hard training, discipline and dedication, these new constables will further strengthen the efficiency of the police department.
He said that the training period is the most important phase of life, where team spirit, discipline, physical vigilance and practical policing are learned throughout life. During the training, the new constables are trained in important subjects like outdoor activities, weapon training, force drill, law enforcement, cyber crime, modern technology and crowd control, which will prove very useful in future duty.
Director General of Police Shri Makwana said that cyber crime, law and order and internal security are major challenges in the present time, which the police force needs to be technically proficient and physically capable to deal with. He lauded the bravery performed by the Special Armed Forces and Madhya Pradesh Police personnel in anti-Naxal operations, eradication of bandits, election duty and other sensitive situations. He said that police jawans have demonstrated the spirit of public service of the police by giving CPR to people on many occasions while showing promptness, humanitarian sensitivity and courage during duty.
Describing the upcoming Simhasth-2028 as a big challenge for the Madhya Pradesh Police, he said that vigilance in systems like modern technology, drone surveillance, CCTV monitoring and integrated command system will be an important part of future policing.
The Director General of Police Shri Makwana taught the new constables to maintain physical and mental health, to work with integrity, discipline, sensitivity and loyalty to the constitution and to engage in constant public communication. He said that after wearing the uniform, the only religion of a policeman is public service, law enforcement and national interest.
He said that police service is not just a job, but an important responsibility associated with public safety and trust. Every policeman should act with sensitivity towards the public, prompt response and impartiality. Public trust is the biggest strength of police.
During the function, a training report was presented by Shri Nagendra Singh, a fighter of 25th Bahini, Visbal Bhopal. He said that the new constable basic training session was launched on June 15, 2025, in which female and male new constables were trained in modern policing including firing, riot drill, law and order, physical vigilance and basic knowledge of law. He said that under the guidance of the Director General of Police, for the first time cyber crime and social media related crimes were included in the training course, so that the trainees were also informed about the “do’s and don’ts” related to cyber crimes. He expressed the belief that in the future many new constables will play their role as cyber commandos as well.
Mr. Nagendra Singh informed that the new constables have honored the training institute with excellent performance in 74th All India Police Hockey Tournament 2025-26 held at Rajkot, Gujarat and 2nd All India Police Kabaddi Cluster Tournament 2025-26 held at Jammu. Shri Singh said that constables are the backbone of the police department and these new constables trained with discipline, physical vigilance and spirit of public service will further strengthen the motto of Madhya Pradesh Police “Patriotism, Public Service” in the future.
An impressive silent drill display was presented by the New Guards, which showed an impressive display of discipline, coordination and excellent training vigilance. Along with this, the trainees demonstrated their awareness of physical ability, mental balance and fitness by demonstrating various yoga postures.
At the end of the program, the Director General of Police Mr. Kailash Makwana awarded the first prize and certificate to Mr. Devendra Kumar Gupta 9th Division Rewa and second award and certificate to Mr. Harshit Kushwaha 36th Division Balaghat who showed excellent performance in training. Also felicitated the new guards who excelled in indoor and outdoor training. He congratulated and wished all the officials, coaches, employees and families involved in the successful organization.
Additional Director General of Police Mr. Chanchal Shekhar, Inspector General of Police Mr. Irshad Wali, Commissioner of Police Mr. Sanjay Kumar along with other police officers and staff, officers of Special Armed Forces, trainers and a large number of families of new constables were present in the ceremony.
