- 65 women and adolescent girls to receive free training and employment opportunities
- Aprons and tailoring kits distributed to trainees
Maharashtra State Power Generation Company Limited (Mahagenco), in collaboration with the Adani Foundation, has launched a free tailoring training centre aimed at the skill development of women in rural areas like Mudagaon and Chitwahi. The initiative seeks to make women and adolescent girls self-reliant by providing them with skill training and creating new avenues for self-employment.

Currently, 65 women and young women from the surrounding areas are undergoing tailoring training at this centre. On the day of the inauguration, they were provided with practical knowledge regarding tailoring as well as training kits to enable them to start their own self-employment ventures in the future.
The event was inaugurated by the chief guest, Smt. Deepti Gesmar, and presided over by Shri Shailesh M. Padol. Speaking on the occasion, he remarked that this training centre represents a meaningful effort towards empowering women to become self-reliant. It will allow them to hone their skills and access better livelihood opportunities. Distinguished guests, including Shri D.B. Khobragade and Shri Chandrakant M. Bale, along with other members of the Mahagenco team, were present at the event.
Local public representatives also actively participated in the programme. Attendees included Shri Jahaj Ram Bhagat, Shri Maheshram Sinha, Shri Bharat Sinha, Shri Gulabi Yadav, and Shri Dharmendra Mahant from Mudagaon, as well as Shri Gangaram Porte (Sarpanch), Shri Laxmi Prasad Sinha, Shri Naveen Sharma, and Shri Ghanshyam Sahu from Chitwahi. Additionally, representatives from Adani—including the Cluster Head, CSR Head, Land Department Head, and other CSR team members—were present.

During the event, aprons and tailoring kits were distributed to all the trainees enrolled at the centre. This initiative marks a significant step towards the empowerment of women and adolescent girls. This will not only increase their livelihood opportunities but also boost their self-confidence and help them move towards becoming financially self-reliant.
