Preparations underway to make Co-operative Week a mass movement

  • Minister Shri Kedar Kashyap held a review meeting regarding the state level event.
  • Co-operative Week will be celebrated across the state from June 29 to July 6.

On the occasion of completion of five years of establishment of the Ministry of Cooperation of the Government of India, a review meeting was held at the residence office in Nava Raipur regarding the preparations for the Cooperative Week to be held from 29 June to 6 July 2026. In the meeting, Cooperation Minister Shri Kedar Kashyap gave necessary guidelines to the departmental officers and representatives of various cooperative institutions and federations.

Cooperatives are a strong foundation for farmers and rural development.
      Addressing the meeting, Minister Kedar Kashyap said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Cooperative Minister Amit Shah, the cooperative sector has gained a new identity in the country. Today, cooperatives have become an effective medium for farmer prosperity, rural development, women’s empowerment, and the creation of a self-reliant India.

Cooperative week should reach every district.
      Minister Mr. Kashyap said that Cooperative week should not be a mere formal event but should become a campaign of public participation. For this, programs should be organized in all the districts, development blocks and cooperative societies of the state and maximum participation of farmers, youth, women and common citizens should be ensured.
Special focus will be on awareness and innovation.
    Mr. Kashyap instructed the officials that awareness, participation and innovation should be given priority in the week-long programs. People should be informed about the cooperative schemes, achievements and benefits, so that more and more people can join the cooperative. 
Active participation will be from different sections.

       Minister Mr. Kashyap said that during Cooperative Week, active participation of farmers, women self-help groups, dairy producers, fish farmers, forest produce collectors, and artisans should be ensured. This will further strengthen the cooperative movement.

Success stories will be given prominence
         . The meeting also reviewed preparations for the state-level exhibition. Minister Mr. Kashyap directed that the exhibition should showcase success stories, innovations, and on-the-ground achievements of beneficiaries benefiting from cooperatives, rather than just statistics, so that people can understand the true power of cooperatives.
“Emphasis on Modern Technology and Digital Services”
         Minister Mr. Kashyap said that connecting cooperative institutions with modern technology, digital services, value addition, and improved marketing systems is the need of the hour. Special exhibitions and discussions will also be organized on these topics during Cooperative Week.
“Discussion on the Role of Cooperative Institutions”
       The meeting reviewed the role and achievements of the District Cooperative Bank, Primary Agricultural Credit Societies, Marketing Federation, Milk Federation, Fisheries Federation, Minor Forest Produce Federation, and other cooperative institutions. All the institutions were requested to present their achievements and future plans effectively.
‘Resolve to make “Prosperity through Cooperation” a reality’

Minister Shri Kedar Kashyap said that “Prosperity through Cooperation” is not just a slogan but the basis of the work culture of development. Our aim is that the benefits of cooperation should reach the last person of the society and Chhattisgarh should establish its strong identity among the leading cooperative states of the country.
          Managing Director of Chhattisgarh State Cooperative Marketing Federation Shri Jitendra Shukla, Cooperative Commissioner Shri Ramesh Sharma, MD Apex Bank Shri K N Kande, Additional Commissioner Cooperative Institutions Smt. Savitri Bhagat along with senior departmental officers, representatives of various cooperative institutions and federations were present in the meeting.
