State School Education Minister Gajendra Yadav reached the residence of Padma Vibhushan awardee, world-renowned Pandavani singer and invaluable heritage of Chhattisgarh’s folk culture, late Dr. Teejan Bai, in her native village Ganiyari. He met the bereaved family members and expressed his deep condolences and consoled them in this hour of grief. On this occasion, as per the instructions of Honorable Chief Minister Shri Vishnudev Sai, he held detailed discussions with the family members and district administration officials regarding the preparations for the Dashahara and tribute program to be held on July 14 and discussed the necessary arrangements.
Mr. Yadav said that the passing of the late Dr. Teejan Bai is an irreparable loss not only to her family, but also to the cultural heritage of Chhattisgarh and the country. Through her unique Pandavani singing style, she gave Chhattisgarh’s folk art a distinct identity at the national and international level. Her cultural contributions, personality, and art will forever inspire generations to come.

The School Education Minister said that in view of the large number of fans of the late Dr. Teejan Bai, people associated with the art world and dignitaries attending the Dashahara and tribute program, all arrangements including seating, food, transportation will be ensured in a dignified and well-organized manner. He obtained information from the family members regarding the necessary arrangements and assured that the state government will provide all possible support on this occasion. Mayor Nirmal Kosare, villagers, Collector, Superintendent of Police and senior officers of the district administration were present on this occasion.
