The 15- day state wide ” Safe Click 2.0″ cyber security public awareness campaign conducted by Madhya Pradesh Police from 24th June to 08th July 2026 concluded today at Naronha Administration Academy , Swarna Jayanti Auditorium, Bhopal. Director General of Police Shri Kailash Makwana was the chief guest of the program. Additional Director General of Police (Cyber) Shri A. Sai Manohar , Commissioner of Police Bhopal Shri Sanjay Kumar , senior police officers , representatives of various departments , community police members , representatives of educational institutions and a large number of citizens were present.
Speaking on the occasion, the Director General of Police Mr. Makwana said that in his New Year message to the officers in January 2025 , he had called for a continuous public participation based campaign, identifying three major challenges — cyber crime , public awareness against drugs and road safety — as top priorities. In line with the same resolution, ” Safe Click” and ” Nashe Se Dastri Hai Nestri” extensive public awareness campaigns are being successfully conducted by the Madhya Pradesh Police. He said that due to the positive results of ” Safe Click 1.0″, the region has seen a significant reduction in cyber crimes like digital arrests. In many cases, the victims were relieved by taking immediate action due to the timely notification of the police by the conscious citizens. Referring to the digital arrest case of Bhopal, he said that the police foiled the cyber crime by intervening live on the immediate notice of the victim.
The Director General of Police said that cyber criminals are constantly changing their ways , therefore Madhya Pradesh Police is also alerting citizens by issuing new advisories from time to time. He said that ” Safe Click 2.0″ was launched by Additional Director General of Police (Cyber) Shri A. Sai Manohar and his team provided a more comprehensive format keeping in mind the changing cyber landscape , as a result of which the campaign succeeded in reaching the masses. He said that cyber crime will be one of the biggest challenges of law and order in the coming times. In such cases awareness is the most effective security cover. Madhya Pradesh Police is continuously working on innovations like identifying fake bank accounts and closing them , taking action against fake SIM cards and timely holding the amount of cyber fraud and returning it to the victims to provide early relief to cyber crime victims.
The Director General of Police said that the e-Zero FIR system related to cyber fraud was launched by the Hon’ble Union Home Minister from Gwalior on 25th December 2025 , with which Madhya Pradesh became the second state in the country to implement the facility of e-Zero FIR in cases of cyber fraud. Initially, this system was applicable for cyber fraud cases of Rs 1 lakh or more , which was later reduced to Rs 25 thousand , so that more victims could get speedy justice and relief. He said that this has definitely increased the workload of the police , but providing speedy justice to the citizens is the highest priority of the Madhya Pradesh Police. He said that today every citizen’s day starts with one click of mobile and ends with that. In such a time cyber awareness has become very necessary. During the campaign, police officers visited various places including schools , colleges , universities , government and private institutions and informed lakhs of students and citizens about the practical measures of cyber security.
Director General of Police Mr. Kailash Makwana said that the campaign must have come to an end , but vigilance towards cyber security should never end. He appealed to the citizens not to click on any unknown link , not to share OTP , password or bank confidential information with anyone and in case of any kind of cyber fraud, immediately file a complaint on National Cyber Helpline 1930 or National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal. He said that timely notification increases the chances of getting hold of the amount of fraud and quick access to criminals. He said that under the campaign cyber security oath was administered to lakhs of students with the help of School Education Department. More than 60 thousand cyber security messages were broadcast on CUG SIMs and about 5 crore bulk SMS were sent to citizens through four major telecom companies of the country .
About 60 thousand Asha and Anganwadi workers of the Women and Child Development Department , Health Department , Panchayat and Rural Development Department , Gram Panchayats , Police Training Institutes , GRP , Police Welfare Center , Cyber Awareness Rath , Choupal , Marathon , Rally , Religious Places and MPL Cricket League spread the message of cyber security to every section of the society.
Additional Director General of Police (Cyber) Shri A. Sai Manohar in his vote of thanks attributed the success of the campaign to the visionary leadership and continuous guidance of the Director General of Police Shri Makwana. He said that after the success of ” Safe Click 1.0″, ” Safe Click 2.0″ was given a more comprehensive form , as a result of which the campaign became a mass movement reaching the masses. He said that the theory of “Prevention is Better Than Cure” is fully applicable in the field of cyber security and public awareness is the most effective means of prevention of cyber crimes. He thanked all the police commissioners , superintendents of police , police officers and employees , print , electronic and digital media , school education department , health department , women and child development department , telecommunication companies , voluntary organizations and all departments associated with the campaign for making the campaign a success. Also appreciated the dedicated contribution of Cyber HQ team and specially all officers and employees including Mr. Pranay Nagvanshi.
Deputy Inspector General of Police Dr. Vineet Kapoor while giving details of the campaign’s broad outlines and achievements, said that during the 15- day campaign, planned activities were conducted across the region with separate topics determined for each day. Interactive programs were organized on topics like digital arrest , AI based cyber crime , voice cloning , phishing , QR code fraud , investment related cyber fraud and social media security , making students and youth ” brand ambassadors” of cyber security. By taking cyber security oath to the students, they were given a message to make their families and society aware.
Through Gram Panchayats , Janpad Panchayats and Gram Sabhas in rural areas , farmers , women , youth and senior citizens were made aware of safe digital transactions. By reaching out to agricultural markets , labor groups and rural communities, information was given on the precautions to be taken during digital transactions.
Before the campaign, a mega hackathon was also organized in the region with the aim of increasing innovation and youth participation in the field of cyber security , in which national level teams participated at various places including Bhopal , Indore and Jabalpur.
Notably, during the ” Safe Click 2.0″ campaign, more than 8,600 public awareness programs were organized across the region. There was competition among all the districts to ensure maximum participation of citizens under the campaign. As a result of which the message of cyber security was directly conveyed to more than 1 crore citizens , while cyber awareness was widely spread to more than 6 crore people through digital and social media platforms . Superintendents of Police of Dindauri , Alirajpur , Datia and Baitul districts along with Police Commissioners of Bhopal and Indore were awarded on the basis of excellent performance.
