Under the guidance of Collector Shri Singh, natural farming in the district is encouraged

  • PD Atma and Agriculture Officers inspected the farm and cowshed

Ujjain, 17 July. Under the guidance of Collector Shri Raushan Kumar Singh, continuous efforts are being made to promote natural farming in the district. In this order, on Friday, natural farming was observed in village Ghinuda of Khachraud, Development Block, and the inauguration and tree planting program of the newly constructed cowshed of Mr. Girdharilal Patidar, a progressive farmer who adopted natural farming, was organized.

Project Director (PD) Atma Shri K.S. Ken, Assistant Director Agriculture Mr. Kamlesh Kumar Rathore, Senior Agriculture Development Officer Mr. Sandeep Croreia and the team of Agriculture Department were present. The officials inspected the farm of Shri Girdharilal Patidar and appreciated his efforts to promote natural farming and cow-based agriculture.

During the inspection, the officials also planted saplings on the farm. Groundnuts, maize and white muesli are being cultivated under raised bed method under natural farming by Mr. Patidar. Along with this, the major components of natural farming are bio-inputs including organic matter, solid matter, pancha patti extract and other biological inputs are also being produced on the farm.

Giving detailed information about the benefits of natural farming to the farmers present on the occasion, the officials advised that the farmers should initially adopt natural farming for their own use and gradually increase its area. He said that natural farming reduces production costs, increases soil fertility and biodiversity and makes safe and quality food production possible.

The farmers present in the program got information about various aspects of natural farming and expressed their resolve to adopt it while appreciating the ongoing natural farming campaign in the district.
