Ujjain, 17 July. The Vikramotsava 2026 organized by Maharaja Vikramaditya Research Institute under the Department of Culture, Government of Madhya Pradesh has received the third national honor this year. Vikramotsav 2026 was awarded the prestigious honor of Government Event of the Year (Gold Award) under the BITA Awards 2026 at the Hindustan 2.0 National Thought Camp and Expo organized by the International Convention of Event Industry in Dehradun on July 15 and 16. Beta Key Team Bhopal Akar Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav will be awarded this honor. Vikramotsava is the longest running cultural event in the world. It includes cultural activities as well as business events. Prior to this, it has also won Gold in Cultural Live Event of the Year and Silver Award in Best Government Participation in Live Event at Show of India Conclave 2026 held on 2-3 May 2026 in New Delhi.

Its first Vikramotsav: 2025 was awarded the Longstanding IP of the Year by Emax Global Awards. Gold Award Mil Chuka Hai in Special Category of Government Ceremony of Asia by “WOW” Award Asia-2025. In the year-2024, Vikramotsav got Asia’s “Biggest Religious” award.
- More than 17.72 crore people joined Vikramotsav in the year 2026
The broadcast of the event during Vikramotsav 2026 set a new record in the field of digital outreach and community engagement. According to the official report, activities related to the organization reached a total of more than 17.72 crore people between February 7 and March 24, 2026. While 47.85 lakh people were reached through official social media and live streams, a digital reach of over 17.24 crore was recorded through crowd-sourced content and various hashtags.
- 139 day event
Starting from Vikramotsav 2026, a specially planned Jal Ganga Conservation Mission was organized for the protection and conservation of the very special water element in the Panch Mahabhutas, which was held on the occasion of Srishti Nirman Diwas Pratipada. This 139-day event from February 12 to June 30, 2026 will be a unique celebration of cultural, social and economic activities across India and the country and the world. Its first phase was completed on the occasion of Mahashivratri with the Aaradhana of Shivotham Mahadev by renowned musician Pritam. The second phase was completed from March 19 to June 30, 2026 under Jal Ganga Conservation Mission. More than 4000 artists performed in more than 41 multifaceted activities. As part of Vikramotsav 2026, the drama Samrat Vikramaditya was staged in Varanasi from April 3 to 5 to promote the good governance and justice of the great emperor Vikramaditya of Ujjain.
