- Many important decisions were taken in the cabinet meeting held today at Mantralaya Mahanadi Bhawan under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai –
1. In the meeting of the Council of Ministers, the proposal for the formation of a Cabinet Sub-Committee has been approved to ensure timely and smooth availability of fertilizers to the farmers of the state in Kharif and Rabi seasons and to provide suggestions, recommendations and guidance on matters related to fertilizer supply, distribution and management.
In this sub-committee, the Deputy Chief Minister, Public Works, Public Health Engineering, Urban Administration and Development and Sports and Youth Welfare Department has been nominated as the Chairman and Cabinet Minister, Agriculture Development and Farmers Welfare Department, Cabinet Minister, Cooperation Department and Cabinet Minister, Finance Department have been nominated as members.

The Agriculture Production Commissioner will be the convener of the subcommittee. The subcommittee will be able to invite officials from relevant departments, subject matter experts, and representatives from other institutions as needed and will provide suggestions to the state government on issues related to the availability and supply of fertilizers.
2. An important decision was taken at the cabinet meeting to ensure the rehabilitation and respectable employment of Agniveer soldiers. The cabinet approved the proposal to make the Reservation Rules-2026 for Vacancies in Class III Posts in the State Civil Services for Agniveer soldiers of Chhattisgarh, to provide 10 percent reservation for Agniveer soldiers in the direct recruitment of Class III posts in the state – constable in the police department, forest guard in the Forest and Climate Change department and guard in the jail department.
This decision has been taken in compliance with the announcement made by the Chief Minister in the Assembly on July 26, 2024. The benefit of this reservation will be available to those Agniveer soldiers who have been discharged from service with a valid service certificate after completing four years of service in the Indian Armed Forces.
With this decision, Agniveer soldiers will get better employment opportunities in the state services and the police, forest and jail administration will benefit from their experience and discipline.
