Governor Shri Ramen Deka today inaugurated the Shabari Library, established by the Vanvasi Vikas Samiti, Chhattisgarh, to promote the culture of study, knowledge acquisition, and reading among tribal girls. The Governor provided financial assistance from his discretionary grant for the establishment of the library.
On this occasion, the Governor stated that the Shabari Library is a visionary initiative that will become a powerful center for study, reflection, self-development, and personality development for tribal girls. He expressed confidence that the girls studying here will achieve remarkable success in various fields of life, including competitive examinations, through their knowledge and education. Their achievements will bring pride not only to their families but also to society and the nation.
He said that for years, Shabari Kanya Ashram has been providing tribal girls not only with shelter and education, but also with values, self-confidence, self-reliance, and a sense of national service. As a result, many girls who received their education here are now making significant contributions in various fields, including education, health, administration, and social service.
The Governor stated that Chhattisgarh is a state blessed with natural resources and a rich cultural heritage. Its culture is linked to traditions dating back to the Ramayana period. He added that the cultural traditions of Assam and Chhattisgarh share many similarities, and the cultural trajectories of both states are linked to Lord Shri Ram. It is a matter of pride for all of us to be part of such a glorious cultural environment.
He said that today is the age of the internet and technology. Maintaining life values amidst rapidly changing lifestyles is crucial. Sensitivity to family and society, contentment, and positive thinking are what make life meaningful. Only a satisfied person can be truly happy. Life is a priceless gift from God, so we should utilize every moment of it and fulfill our responsibilities to society and the nation.
Governor Mr. Deka said that the Vanvasi Vikas Samiti, Chhattisgarh Province, affiliated with the All India Vanvasi Kalyan Ashram, has been doing remarkable work for the upliftment of tribal communities in the fields of education, health, culture, self-reliance, and service for the past several decades. This effort to reach the last person in society is truly inspiring. He commended the dedication of the organization’s founders, officials, workers, and associates, praising their service work.
