In this series, today at the historic Kanker Palace in Kanker, the team of Chhattisgarh Tourism Board and digital content creators (influencers) from various districts of the state paid a courtesy visit to the Crown Prince of Kanker Palace, Shri Jaipratap. He emphasized that the preservation and effective promotion of heritage sites are crucial foundations for tourism development.
The meeting specifically discussed lesser-known tourist destinations in and around Kanker, which have immense tourism potential but remain largely out of reach of tourists. Several suggestions were made to promote these destinations to domestic and international travelers through digital media, effectively showcase their unique features, and establish them on the tourism map. It was also considered that Kanker could be established as a multi-faceted tourist destination by developing an integrated approach to natural tourism, religious tourism, adventure tourism, and heritage tourism.
Digital content creators from various districts of the state shared their experiences and explained that Chhattisgarh’s lesser-known but extremely captivating tourist destinations, local folk culture, tribal life, traditional art, food, and natural beauty can be presented to the nation and the world through creative video, photography, and digital storytelling. This will not only increase tourist numbers but also provide direct economic benefits to local communities.
During the meeting, positive discussions were held on promoting heritage tourism, preserving historical heritage, ensuring active participation of the local community, and developing new tourism-based employment and self-employment opportunities. The influencers expressed confidence that through their digital platforms, the unique tourism identity of Kanker and the entire Bastar region will reach millions of people and give a new impetus to the state’s tourism.
Crown Prince Shri Jai Pratap also praised this initiative of the Chhattisgarh Tourism Board, saying that this effort to give a new identity to the state’s historical and cultural heritage through digital media will certainly prove fruitful. He said that if local heritage, history, and natural resources are presented effectively, Kanker can establish its unique identity among the country’s leading heritage tourist destinations in the coming years.
It is noteworthy that the Chhattisgarh Tourism Board is currently organizing the Bastar Tourism Introduction Tour with digital content creators from various districts of the state. Through this tour, the historical, cultural, religious, and natural tourist destinations of the Bastar division are being widely promoted, so that the state’s tourism potential can gain new recognition at the national and international levels.
