Minister Shri Sarang Nathubarkheda inspected the International Sports Complex regarding preparations for the Women’s Asian Championship

Sports and Youth Welfare Minister Shri Vishwas Kailash Sarang on Thursday inspected the under-construction international sports complex at Nathubarkheda and reviewed the construction works and the preparations for the proposed Women’s Asian Championship. During this time, he toured the area with officials and construction agency representatives and reviewed the progress of the sports infrastructure, security system, facilities being developed for the players and the construction work and instructed to complete all the work within the stipulated time frame with high quality and in accordance with international standards.

Minister Shri Sarang said that phase-1 of Nathubarkheda International Sports Complex will be inaugurated soon. With the commencement of Phase-1, sports activities of athletics, hockey and football will be started here. The ground and state-of-the-art facilities designed for these games will provide world-class training and preparation opportunities for national and international competitions to the players of the region.

Minister Shri Sanrag said that the aim of the government is to develop such sports infrastructure in Madhya Pradesh, where world class facilities are available to sportsmen of the state in their own state. This complex will become a major hub for national training camps, international competitions and major sports events in the future and will play an important role in establishing Madhya Pradesh among the leading sports states of the country.

Minister Shri Sarang, while reviewing the preparations for the Women’s Asian Championship, directed that the athletics track, hockey turf, football field, players’ changing room, medical facilities, spectator gallery, lighting system, drinking water, parking, security system, IT network and all other necessary works should be completed on time before the organization of the competition. He said that there should be no inconvenience to the players, coaches, officials and spectators during the competition and that every arrangement should be checked beforehand.

Minister Shri Sarang also inspected the entry and exit system, road connectivity, green area, fire safety, signage, electricity and water supply, sanitation system and administrative buildings in the premises. He directed the officials that all public facilities should be developed as per international standards and quality should not be compromised in any way. He said that every construction work should conform to technical standards and ensure strict adherence to time limits.

Minister Shri Sarang also directed that regular technical inspections should be conducted to ensure the quality of construction works and third party audits should also be conducted as required. Along with this, use of solar energy, modern cafeteria, adequate parking, green development and other public facilities should also be developed with priority.

Minister Shri Sarang said that Nathubarkheda International Sports Complex is not just a sports complex but is going to become a symbol of new sports identity of Madhya Pradesh. The world-class facilities being developed here will take the region’s athletes to new heights and also make the region a leader in hosting international sports events.

During the inspection, senior officials of sports and youth welfare department, representatives of construction agency and officials of related departments were present.
