- Aparajita Women’s Help Centre has become a powerful model for the rehabilitation of mentally ill and destitute women.
The Aparajita Women’s Help Center, operated by the Social Welfare Department, Raipur, has become a beacon of new hope for women experiencing difficult situations such as mental illness, destitution, and social neglect. This center has emerged as not only a shelter but also an effective means of healing, self-confidence, and dignified rehabilitation.
Between July 2025 and July 2026, the Center achieved significant success in successfully rehabilitating 35 women and reuniting them with their families. Women whose immediate family rehabilitation was not possible were safely rehabilitated at Nari Niketan, Raipur, as per the regulations.
The center provides women with safe housing, expert medical treatment, psychological counseling, yoga and pranayama, skill development training, and various self-reliance trainings. Through these efforts, women are not only becoming mentally healthy but also moving towards reintegrating into mainstream society with self-respect.

The work of the Aparajita Women’s Support Center demonstrates that timely treatment, sensitive care, and effective rehabilitation can bring positive and lasting change to a person’s life. The center is emerging as an inspiring and exemplary model in the state for women’s protection, mental health care, and social rehabilitation.
This initiative by the Social Welfare Department has brought new light to the lives of women whose future once seemed uncertain. Today, these women are once again moving toward a safe, dignified, and self-reliant life, a powerful example of the state government’s sensitive and humanitarian approach.
