Six states announce reservations for Agniveers

On Friday, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Odisha, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, and Rajasthan decided to introduce reservations for Agniveers in their police and security forces following their service in the army. This move aims to address the concerns raised over the temporary enlistment of soldiers through the contentious Agnipath scheme and to offer a safety net for those who may not be able to continue in regular military service.
