 Agriculture department takes action against illegal storage of fertilizers and bio-catalysts, warehouse sealed

The Agriculture Department has intensified its efforts to provide quality agricultural inputs to farmers and to prevent the illegal sale of fertilizers and pesticides in the Kharif season of 2026. During a surprise inspection, conducted on the instructions of the district administration, the department took action against two agricultural centers located in Gandai, part of the Khairagarh-Chhuikhadan-Gandai district.

Hariom Krishi Kendra, Gandai, located at Bazaar Chowk, was operating a warehouse illegally by misleading the department. During the preliminary investigation, the department took immediate action, sealing the illegal warehouse located on Dhamdha Road. All suspicious pesticides and fertilizers present in the warehouse were confiscated and handed over to Neeraj Agarwal, the operator of the Krishi Kendra. The department has initiated further proceedings. Similarly, a show-cause notice has been issued to Raghavendra Krishi Kendra for violating the Fertilizer Control Order. 
The department has clarified that strict action will be taken against the sellers as per the rules if pesticides and fertilizers are sold without following the prescribed procedures, stock is not properly maintained, conditions are violated in the license, and pesticides and fertilizers are traded contrary to the prescribed standards.

  • Bio-catalysts without source certificate also seized:

The Agriculture Department has also taken action against three agriculture centre operators for selling and storing pesticides and fertilizers without source certificate. During inspection, 250 litres of illegal bio-catalyst was seized from Daksh Agrotech Rengakathera under Khairagarh development block and the case was presented in the Collector’s Court. Also, for selling bio-fertilizer without license at Suryash Agriculture Centre located at Bhandarapur and Prachi Agriculture Centre located at Parasahi, the stock was seized and legal action has been initiated.
