Revenue and Higher Education Minister Shri Tank Ram Verma attended a Teachers’ Felicitation Ceremony held today at the PM SHRI Kanya Shala in Nevra. Paying tribute to the life and works of former President and great philosopher Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, he remarked that teachers do not merely impart education but also instill the values necessary for living a meaningful life. A teacher’s guidance is essential for the holistic development of the mind and intellect. From ancient times to the modern era, whenever society or the nation has faced challenges, teachers have played a pivotal role in showing the right path. Discussing development works in the Balodabazar assembly constituency, he noted that basic amenities such as sheds, boundary walls, electricity, and drinking water facilities have been provided in government schools.

Reflecting on the teachers’ felicitation ceremony and his own interactions with educators, Minister Shri Verma stated that respecting teachers forms the fundamental basis of our rich cultural tradition. In the past, teachers played a central role in resolving local disputes and organizing social and cultural events in rural areas. Although life has become busier in the current technological age, the rural social fabric can be further strengthened if people dedicate time to society.
- Automatic mutation process initiated immediately after property registration
During the event, Minister Shri Verma highlighted the revolutionary decisions taken to improve the image of the Revenue Department. He explained that powers have been delegated to Tehsildars to facilitate the speedy rectification of errors that occurred during the transition from manual to online record-keeping. Furthermore, the authority to hear second appeals has been transferred from the Commissioner directly to the District Collector. To curb the growth of illegal colonies, the sale and purchase of land parcels smaller than 5 decimals have been prohibited; additionally, to prevent fraudulent registrations, Tehsil offices have been linked online with registration offices, and an OTP (One-Time Password) has been made mandatory at the time of registration. An automated mutation process will now commence immediately following the registration of a property, and farmers have been provided the facility to download their ‘Kisan Pustika’ (farmer’s passbook) online, eliminating the need to make repeated visits to government offices. Landowners are now permitted to partition their land during their own lifetime. Furthermore, to prevent land mafias from reaping undue benefits from major projects like ‘Bharatmala’, a provision has been introduced to halt the buying and selling of land in the affected areas as soon as the project notification is issued; this ensures that genuine farmers receive transparent compensation.
Regarding the Higher Education Department, he stated that education is being directly linked to employment through the implementation of the National Education Policy (NEP). He mentioned that ₹2 crore has been released to provide lighting facilities in 40 rural villages. Additionally, approvals have been granted for the construction of paved platforms around village ponds in 100 villages, the building of ‘Mahtari Sadans’ in 40 villages, and the construction of buildings for institutions such as ‘Saraswati Shishu Mandir’. He reiterated that the guidance of elders and teachers would always remain paramount in these public service initiatives.
