Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav addressed the first Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh in the central hall of the Vidhan Sabha on Sunday. Pt. On the occasion of Ravi Shankar Shukla’s birth anniversary, he offered floral tributes to his picture. On this occasion, MLA Shri Bhagwandas Sabnani, Officer of the Vidhan Sabha and himself. Family members of Mr. Shukla were also present.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that Mr. Pandit Ravi Shankar Shukla’s life was always devoted to national service, public welfare and good governance. He did important work in the fields of education, irrigation, industry and administrative development. He played an important role in establishing the basic policies for the development of the region. Pt. Shri Shukla played an active role in the Indian independence movement. He was the Chief Minister of undivided Madhya Pradesh and Berar (CP and Berar) and became the first Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh after its formation. His contribution to the development of the state as the first Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh will always be remembered.
It is noteworthy that Pt. Ravi Shankar Shukla (2 August 1877 – 31 December 1956) was a famous Indian freedom fighter and the first Chief Minister of the reorganized Madhya Pradesh. He assumed the post of Chief Minister after the formation of the state of Madhya Pradesh on 1 November 1956 and remained in this position till his death on 31 December 1956.
