- Osteoarthritis and Vayomitra Yojana organized in Raghunathpur under National AYUSH Program
Under the National Ayush Program run by the Health and Family Welfare Department of Chhattisgarh Government, a free Ayush health camp was organized in village Raghunathpur of Surajpur district under Osteoarthritis and Musculoskeletal Disorder and Vayomitra Yojana with the aim of strengthening the access to health services in rural areas.
At the camp, Ayush physician Dr. Kirti and Mr. Jhool Singh Kanwar (MPW) provided health services to the villagers. In particular, those suffering from bone and joint pain, arthritis, muscle disorders, and general health problems of the elderly were examined.
Along with health checkups, patients were given necessary medical advice and encouraged to adopt yoga, a balanced diet, a regular routine, and an active lifestyle through the Ayush system of medicine. The villagers were also told at the camp that joint and muscle problems can be largely controlled with regular exercise, proper diet, and timely health checkups.
A total of 19 villagers received free health checkups and treatment at the camp. Attendees praised the importance of organizing such health services in rural areas and emphasized the need for regular AYUSH camps.
Through the National AYUSH Programme, the State Government is continuously striving to provide accessible, affordable and traditional medicine based health services in rural and remote areas, so that especially the elderly and people suffering from bone-joint related problems can get relief at the local level.
