Balanced use of nano fertilizers has increased yields

The use of nano fertilizers in place of conventional fertilizers has become a boon for farmers. Their use is producing better crops at a lower cost per acre. Mr. Aghan Singh Darro, a progressive farmer from Kotgaonniche village in Kanker, has set an inspiring example for other farmers in the region by adopting modern agriculture. This year, on the advice of the Agriculture Department, he used a balanced combination of nano urea and nano DAP along with conventional fertilizers in his paddy crop, yielding extremely positive and favorable results.

  • Plant treatment and fertilizer management

Before transplanting the paddy, Mr. Aghan Singh Darro treated the roots of the seedlings (ropa) with a nano DAP solution. This technique strengthened and deepened the root growth of the plants, providing the crop with better nutrition and strength from the start. To meet the total nitrogen requirement of 100 kg, he reduced the amount of granular urea by 50 percent. To meet the remaining nitrogen requirement, foliar application of nano urea was applied at 40 to 45 days of the crop, which significantly improved the crop’s vegetative growth. Additionally, more tillers emerged, the plant stems strengthened, and the crop remained healthy and lush until the end. This reduced dependence on chemical fertilizers, reducing cultivation costs, and yielding approximately 10 percent more than the previous Kharif season.

Sharing his experience, Mr. Darro said that he previously relied solely on conventional fertilizers, which resulted in higher costs. This time, on the advice of the Agriculture Department, he treated the seedlings with Nano DAP before planting and then sprayed Nano Urea afterward. The results were impressive. Half the granular urea was saved, while the plants grew well, and the crop remained completely healthy. This resulted in a yield approximately 10 percent higher than last year at a lower cost.
