With the aim of presenting Bastar’s rich tribal culture, social traditions and the new picture of changing Bastar on the national stage, a delegation of 164 persons including Pargana Manjhi, Chalaki, Samaj Pramukh, famous tribal youth artist of Bastar Pandum-2026, tribal community representatives and Padmashree awardees of Bastar left for Delhi today. This delegation will meet the Honorable President Smt. Draupadi Murmu on 30 July 2026 in a program organized at Rashtrapati Bhavan and will apprise her about Bastar’s glorious cultural heritage, folk traditions and social system.

The delegation members will also convey to the President that today’s Bastar has emerged from a time of violence and fear and entered a new era of peace, development, and trust. Deputy Chief Minister Shri Vijay Sharma, while extending his best wishes to the Pargana Manjhi, Chalaki, community leaders and youth representatives of Bastar who were leaving for Delhi, said that this delegation will represent not only Bastar but the rich tribal culture, traditions and glorious heritage of the entire Chhattisgarh. He said that the echo of Bastar’s folk culture, customs and social values reaching the Rashtrapati Bhavan is a matter of pride for the entire state.
Deputy Chief Minister Mr. Sharma said that today’s Bastar is changing. Once known for its shadow of Naxalism, Bastar is now establishing a new identity of peace, development, education, tourism, sports, and cultural consciousness. Our youth will reach the highest constitutional institution of the country and convey the message of this positive change. He said that the delegation will also express to the Honorable President the gratitude of the people of Bastar and the country’s leadership for their support in the decisive fight against Naxalism. This visit will send a message to the country that Bastar is no longer a place of fear, but a place of trust, development, culture, and new opportunities.
