Blood Donation Camp Organized by MATS School of Engineering & IT in association with AIIMS, Raipur at MATS University, Aarang Campus Raipur CG.

MATS School of Engineering & IT organized Blood Donation Camp in association with the Department of Medical Sciences, AIIMS Raipur, on 24.09.2024 at the Aarang Campus of MATS University. The event, aimed at raising awareness about the importance of blood donation and encouraging voluntary participation, witnessed an overwhelming response from students, faculty members, and staff.
The inauguration of the camp was graced by Dr. K. P. Yadav, Vice-Chancellor, MATS University, Raipur, Dr. Asha Ambhaikar, Director of MSEIT, along with senior officials from AIIMS Raipur. Dr. Asha Ambhaikar, Director of MSEIT, played a crucial role in coordinating the initiative, ensuring the smooth functioning of all activities throughout the day.In her inaugural address, Dr. Asha Ambhaikar emphasized the need for such humanitarian efforts, stating, “Blood donation is a selfless act that can save countless lives. It is heartening to see such a large turnout of young students, ready to contribute to this noble cause.”Dr. Abhishek Kumar Jain,the SPOC for the event, along with his team from Mechanical Engineering Department, efficiently oversaw and coordinated all aspects of the event successfully.
Experts from the blood bank unit of AIIMS Raipur, which included a team of doctors lead by Dr Girish Kshatriya, Dr.Veer Singh Maravi and others, conducted the blood collection process following strict medical guidelines to ensure donor safety. The team expressed gratitude towards MATS University for providing a platform to engage with the youth and increase awareness about the life-saving significance of blood donation.Over 150 units of blood were collected during the camp, making it a significant contribution towards the city’s blood bank reserves. The donated blood will be utilized to support patients in urgent need of transfusions, including those undergoing surgeries, accident victims, and individuals suffering from chronic diseases.
Shri Gajraj Pagaria, Chancellor of MATS University, expressed his support for the initiative, stating that at MATS University, we believe that our responsibility extends beyond academic excellence. Initiatives like these reinforce the values of compassion and service in our students. Speaking on behalf of MATS University, Shri Priyesh Pagaria, Director General, applauded the initiative and encouraged the academic community to continue supporting such impactful events in the future.Shri Gokulananda Panda, Registrar of MATS University, also appreciated the efforts of AIIMS Raipur and all volunteers involved in making the camp a resounding success.This blood donation camp marks another step in MATS University’s commitment to social responsibility and community welfare.
