Shri Vishnu Deo Sai hails Union Budget as ‘Holistic’ and ‘Historic’
Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai commended the Union budget presented by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, calling it a comprehensive budget with great potential for development.
He noted that the budget, which is the seventh one presented by Finance Minister Sitharaman, focuses significantly on agriculture and employment, making it a historic budget. The Chief Minister highlighted the allocation of Rs 1.52 lakh crore for the agriculture sector, stating that it will bring about a new green revolution and prosperity for farmers in Chhattisgarh.
The Chief Minister highlighted the importance of the Pradhan Mantri Janjati Unnat Gram Abhiyan Yojana for tribal communities, mentioning its positive impact on 5 crore tribal people in 63,000 villages in Chhattisgarh. This initiative aims to enhance the socio-economic conditions of the tribal population.
Shri Sai also emphasized the budget provisions for youth employment and skill development, such as internships for one crore youth with a monthly stipend of Rs 5,000 and a Rs 2 lakh crore scheme for skill development. The increase in the Mudra loan limit to Rs 20 lakh and provision for education loans up to Rs 10 lakh for higher education in domestic institutions will further support young entrepreneurs and improve education and skills in Chhattisgarh.
The Chief Minister praised the Rs 2.66 lakh crore allocation for rural development, emphasizing the government’s dedication to the welfare of villages, the poor, farmers, and youth. He sees this budget as a significant step towards achieving Modi’s vision of a developed India by 2047.
Shri Sai also highlighted the Rs 1.52 lakh crore allocation for agriculture and related sectors, providing financial security and resources to farmers. The initiative to register 6 crore farmers’ information on the land registry aims to swiftly resolve land disputes, while plans to improve agricultural research, expert monitoring, and promote climate-adapted varieties will bring benefits to Chhattisgarh farmers through new technologies and resources.
New EPFO registrants earning less than Rs 1 lakh will receive Rs 15,000 in three installments. The budget also offers one month’s salary to new employees, promotes employment in the manufacturing sector, and assists employers. Revised tax slabs will provide tax relief for salaried individuals, resulting in significant savings for taxpayers.
The budget includes a policy for the creative re-development of cities and the completion of the Polavaram irrigation project. Special focus has been given to innovation, research, and development in the budget.
