- Discussion held regarding expansion and strengthening of health services in Chhattisgarh
- Special emphasis on increasing access to quality health facilities in remote and tribal areas
Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai paid a courtesy call on Union Health and Family Welfare Minister Shri J.P. Nadda at his residence in New Delhi today. Chief Minister Shri Sai enquired about Union Minister Shri Nadda’s health and well-being and wished him good health. On this occasion, a fruitful discussion took place regarding the expansion of health and medical services in Chhattisgarh and the progress of health schemes run with the support of the central government.
Chief Minister Shri Sai apprised the Union Health Minister of the efforts being made to strengthen health services in the state. He stated that the state government’s special focus is on ensuring that every citizen of the state has access to quality and accessible healthcare within their immediate vicinity. To this end, the health system is being continuously strengthened, from primary health services to high-level medical facilities.
The Chief Minister informed about efforts to expand access to health services in remote, forested, and tribal areas of the state, particularly Bastar and Surguja. He stated that due to geographical conditions, access to health facilities in remote areas has been a significant challenge. The state government is prioritizing the expansion of health infrastructure, the availability of medical services, and the ease of access to modern treatment facilities in these areas.
Chief Minister Shri Sai also apprised Union Minister Shri Nadda of the progress of various health schemes and programs implemented in the state with the support of the central government. He stated that the scope of health services in Chhattisgarh is continuously expanding due to the coordinated efforts of the central and state governments. Continuous efforts are being made to improve maternal and child health, institutional delivery, treatment of serious illnesses, health insurance, and emergency medical services.
The Chief Minister said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, the country has undergone a profound transformation towards making healthcare accessible and people-oriented. Various central government health schemes, including Ayushman Bharat, have greatly helped in providing quality treatment to needy families. The Chhattisgarh government is also working with the resolve to ensure effective implementation of central government schemes and provide better healthcare to the last person.
Union Minister of Health and Family Welfare, Shri J.P. Nadda, reviewed the efforts being made to improve health services in Chhattisgarh. He assured the central government of the necessary support to strengthen health and medical facilities in the state.
Expressing gratitude to the Union Health Minister, Chief Minister Shri Sai said that with the continuous support of the Central Government, the expansion of health facilities in Chhattisgarh will gain further momentum and the goal of providing better and modern medical services, especially to the citizens of remote and tribal areas, will be achieved rapidly.
