- AI-Based Roadmap to be Developed for Improving Quality of Education
A grand state-level AI Conclave was organized today at the Pt. Deendayal Upadhyay Auditorium in the capital, Raipur, by the School Education Department, Government of Chhattisgarh. The event aimed to improve the quality of school education and foster the holistic development of students under the ‘Samagra Shiksha’ (Comprehensive Education) initiative. Chhattisgarh has become the first state in the country to implement the meaningful and effective use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in school education.
- Launch of the ‘Laika Chinhari’ App
The event’s chief guest, School Education Minister Shri Gajendra Yadav, officially launched the ‘Laika Chinhari’ app, developed by the School Education Department to reintegrate school dropouts into the education system. Extending greetings on the occasions of Vishwakarma Jayanti and the Prime Minister’s birthday, he stated that the insights gained from this conclave would serve as a powerful aid for teachers and promote skill development among students.
- AI in Education: Not a Replacement for Teachers, but a Supportive Partner
Dr. Kamaljeet Singh (Secretary, School Education): In his address, he noted that we are already using AI in the technological era, often without even realizing it. This initiative marks a significant step toward improving the quality of education by effectively aligning local needs with available resources. He clarified that AI would not replace teachers but would instead act as a supportive partner.
Dr. Kiran Kaushal (Commissioner, Samagra Shiksha): In her welcome address, she stated that the conclave would enable more effective use of smart classrooms and ICT labs across the state with the help of AI, thereby ensuring that simple and accessible education reaches every child.
- Participation of Experts from India and Abroad
Many prestigious technical institutions and companies from India and around the world participated in the conclave. Experts from organizations such as Google, Wadhwani AI, Amazon, Microsoft, Adobe, Khan Academy, Physics Wallah, IIT Bhilai, IIM Raipur, NIT Raipur, and CHiPS shared their insights and delivered presentations during the event. At the conclusion of the event, it was highlighted that a comprehensive AI roadmap for the Chhattisgarh School Education Department would be prepared after studying the innovations and technical solutions presented during the conclave. This roadmap will serve as the foundation for developing supportive resources for teachers and further strengthening the education system through technology.
