“Distance from intoxication is the greatest safety.” With this message, on the occasion of International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking, Madhya Pradesh Police organized a special awareness workshop during the 6th New Constable Basic Training Session conducted at Police Training School, Ujjain.
The workshop was inaugurated by the Superintendent of Police Mrs. Manisha Pathak Soni. He gave information about the side effects of drugs, the importance of de-addiction, the social responsibility of the police and the need for anti-drug awareness campaigns in the society.
In the workshop, Inspector of Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB), Indore, Shri Gaurav Jaiswal explained about the side effects of drugs, illegal trafficking, social, economic and moral side effects of drug addiction and crimes related to it.
During the workshop, the participants were informed about the toll-free helpline number 1933 operated to provide information related to drugs and the citizens were called upon to actively participate in the anti-drug campaign by making maximum use of this helpline.
The program appealed to the youth to stay away from intoxicants themselves, prevent their peers from becoming addicted to drugs and play an active role in creating a healthy, safe and drug-free society.
At the end of the workshop, all the new constables, officers and employees present were given the oath of freedom from intoxication. He resolved himself to stay away from drugs, spread public awareness against drugs in the society and actively work to save the youth from drug addiction.
