Chief Minister Dr. Yadav reviewed the work of Skill Development and Employment Department
Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has said that there is a need for constant innovation in the employment sector in the region. Madhya Pradesh has a rich tourism sector related to religious, natural and archeological heritage. There is a wide scope of work to strengthen the system of guides to provide necessary guidance to the tourists and to make them enjoy various cuisines. Youth will get employment in large numbers from these works. This work is possible by establishing coordination between the Department of Skill Development and Employment and the Department of Tourism. Various departments can innovate to provide similar employment opportunities. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav reviewed the activities of Skill Development and Employment Department in the Ministry on Tuesday in a meeting. Minister of State for Skill Development and Employment (Independent Charge) Mr. Gautam Tetwal, Chief Secretary Mr. Anurag Jain, Additional Chief Secretary in Chief Minister’s Office Mr. Neeraj Mandaloi, Principal Secretary of Technical Education, Skill Development and Employment Department Mr. Manish Singh and departmental officers were present in the meeting.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that training institutes can also be run in factory premises in the state. Provision should be made for training in necessary trades keeping in view the needs of the industries. A comprehensive report on the activities of various departments for skill development and employment should also be prepared. Also compile the details of services rendered and new jobs created by various departmental schemes so that the achievement of this sector can be shown at a glance. Employment being provided by the government and private sector is the achievement of the state.
- Major innovations of the department
In the meeting information was given about various innovations made at the department level. Running 10 ITIs under Param Foundation is a special innovation. Organizing Pratimah Yuva Sangam, women driving training, Pratibha Samman, reservation of 35 percent seats for women instead of 30 percent in ITI from the year 2025, foreign language training to students and increasing employment opportunities through it. Apart from this, the benefit of technical and international training has been given to the youth under human resource strengthening.
- Key Achievements in the Skill Development Sector
Information about departmental achievements was also given in the meeting. Among them, admission of 490 disabled trainees in institutions in the year 2025, employment of 18 thousand 403 trainees through placement drive in the last 2 years, maximum admission of 49 thousand 402 in ITI Chalo Abhiyan in the year 2025, training of 2127 women from 12 tribal-dominated districts in collaboration with UN Women, National Teacher Award to three training officers of the region, from Yuva Sangam Benefiting three quarter lakh applicants, Sant Shiromani Ravidas Global Skill Park is running 9 modern long-term courses like Robotics, Mechatronics Automobiles from the year 2024, making arrangements as a hub institute for 10 departmental ITIs and providing on-the-job training and placement assistance. 3484 seats have been increased in ITI in the year 2025. There is an increase of 2356 seats in the year 2026. In this way, 5840 seats have been increased in two years. This year, 10 trainees in various trades of ITI scored the highest marks in the national level examination. Apart from this, the Department of Skill Development and Employment is giving opportunities to the youth to participate in international competitions. In this sequence, Sanskar Sharma of Madhya Pradesh won the Medal of Excellence in Cyber Security Skill in the International World Skill Competition held in France in the year 2024. Madhya Pradesh has also got the achievement of getting 44 medals in regional competition and 8 medals in national competition. A target of 3 thousand certifications has been set in the year 2026-27 at Global Park, Bhopal.

- Skill development activities should be conducted continuously in the region.
- The youth should be trained by designing courses as per the requirements of the industrial institutes.
- Food preparation (culinary training) and guide training should also be given priority.
- Infrastructure is available in the region for manufacturing Kosa textiles. The youth should be involved in activities like mulberry production in collaboration with the horticulture department. The possibilities of silk production should also be worked on.
- Jacket making in Guna district is an ideal model. Many activities that provide financial benefits can be conducted from home. Concerted efforts should be made to connect youth with small and cottage industries.
