Deputy Chief Minister and Public Works Minister Shri Arun Sao participated in the two-day National Chintan Shivir on Roads and National Highways, which began today in Narmada, Gujarat. Organized by the Union Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, under the theme “Progress through Gati Shakti,” the Chintan Shivir was inaugurated by Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Shri Nitin Gadkari. Union Minister of State for Road Transport and Highways Shri Harsh Malhotra was also present.Ministers, officials, experts, and policymakers from road construction departments across various states and union territories are participating in this national brainstorming session. From Chhattisgarh, Deputy Chief Minister Mr. Saw is joined by Public Works Department Chief Engineer Mr. V.K. Bhatpahari, Additional Secretary Mr. S.N. Srivastava, and National Highways Division Chief Engineer Mr. Gyaneshwar Kashyap.

Ministers, officials, experts, and policymakers from various states participating in the Chintan Shivir today discussed in detail the design, quality, road safety, and project management of future national highways in three sessions. It is noteworthy that in Chhattisgarh, work is underway on four-lane national highways from Raipur to Jagdalpur, Bilaspur to Raigarh, Katghora to Ambikapur, and Raipur to Sarangarh. The frameworks to be established at the Chintan Shivir will assist in the implementation of these projects.

On the first day of the National Chintan Shivir, various sessions today deliberated on “PM GatiShakti: Integrated Infrastructure Planning for Coordinated and Effective Project Implementation,” “Expedite Land Acquisition and Effective Utilization of Land Funds,” and “Model Concession Agreement Framework for Robust Project Implementation and Rating.” On the second day of the Chintan Shivir, October 6, discussions will be held on “Designing Safe Highways: From Standards to Implementation” and “Quality Assurance and Project Monitoring.”
