- Instructions given to accelerate seed production and connect more and more farmers
With the aim of making Chhattisgarh State Seed and Agriculture Development Corporation more strong and self-reliant, a review meeting was held on Thursday under the chairmanship of Corporation Chairman Shri Chandrahas Chandrakar at the Corporation Headquarters, Raipur. In the meeting, a detailed review of Self-reliant Pulses Scheme, Seed Production Programme, registration of farmers and cooperative societies and the financial position of the Corporation was done. Giving top priority to better implementation of schemes, timely functioning and financial discipline, the Chairman directed to expedite the work as per the set targets. The Managing Director, along with the officers-employees of the Headquarters and all the seed managers were present in the meeting.
Corporation Chairman Mr. Chandrakar, while inquiring about the progress of the Self-Reliant Pulses Scheme, directed all seed managers to work according to the set targets and to extend the benefits of the scheme to maximum number of farmers. Reviewing the registration of farmers and cooperative societies on the Saathi portal, he stressed on completing the registration work within the time limit and connecting maximum number of farmers with the seed production programme. He said that necessary training should be organised to provide farmers with the process of seed production and related technical information, so that the upcoming seed production programme can be conducted smoothly.
- Recovery and financial discipline have improved the health of the corporation.
Chairman Mr. Chandrakar stated that the Seed Corporation’s financial position has improved significantly due to its timely approach and special attention to recovery. He directed special attention to the recovery of old seed payments, receipt of farmer shares, and verification of data sent to headquarters. He urged all officers and employees to work with responsibility and commitment to further strengthen the Corporation’s financial position.
- Emphasis on e-office and timely execution of works

The Managing Director instructed all seed managers to complete government work within the deadline, conduct tasks through e-office, execute LS and JKS related tasks on time, prevent recurrence of audit objections and keep Google Sheets updated daily. He placed special emphasis on carefully checking the information and data sent to the headquarters, completing the grading and packing of Kharif and Rabi crops on time and keeping the office registers updated and organized.
- No compromise on seed quality
The meeting also emphasized the need to ensure no compromise on seed quality. The Chairman directed that in the event of substandard seeds being found, strict action should be taken in accordance with the regulations, after examining the test reports and necessary documents from the concerned organization. He stated that providing quality seeds to farmers is the corporation’s paramount responsibility.
- Seed storage should be as per requirement
Taking the seed saving issue seriously, Chairman Mr. Chandrakar said that when storing seeds based on the Agriculture Department’s demand, data from previous years should be considered as benchmarks and storage should be done as needed. This will prevent financial losses to the corporation due to unnecessary seed saving.
- Instructions for coordination to solve field problems
The Chairman said that officers should attend every review meeting fully prepared and introspective, and act with vigilance and responsibility, befitting the dignity of their position. He directed that the Collector coordinate with relevant officials and the relevant officials to resolve problems at the field level, and that if a problem is not resolved, the headquarters should be informed in writing, so that the corporation’s functioning and credibility are not affected.
