Employment, poor welfare and economy have gained new strength in the 12 years of Modi government: Industry Minister Shri Lakhanlal Devangan

  • Under the Vikasit Bharat Rozgar Yojana, incentives worth Rs 2,400 crores have been distributed, directly benefiting youth and employers.

Under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, historic progress has been made in the areas of employment generation, poverty alleviation, and economic empowerment. During the Prime Minister’s 12-year tenure, India’s economy has strengthened and new employment opportunities have been created for the youth. This was stated by the State’s Commerce, Industry, and Labor Minister, Shri Lakhanlal Dewangan, at a program organized under the Prime Minister’s Vikasit Bharat Rojgar Yojana.

Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi organized a program to distribute incentives through DBT at Vigyan Bhawan in New Delhi, and the program was broadcast live from the AIIMS auditorium in Raipur. Finance Minister Shri O.P. Chaudhary, Lok Sabha MP Shri Brijmohan Agrawal, and a large number of public representatives, officials, and participants were present on the occasion.

To boost employment generation, the Central Government today distributed incentives worth ₹2,400 crore under the Pradhan Mantri Vikas Bharat Rojgar Yojana (PMVY). More than 1.5 million youth have been employed through the scheme so far. Union Minister of Labor and Employment Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya and Union Minister of State Ms. Shobha Karandlaje were also present at the event held at Vigyan Bhawan. Under the scheme, first-time job seekers will receive a one-time incentive of up to ₹15,000, equivalent to one month’s salary. Employers creating additional employment will receive an incentive of up to ₹3,000 per month for each new appointment, which will boost recruitment in industries and institutions.

Labor Minister Shri Dewangan said that this ambitious scheme, with a total outlay of ₹99,446 crore, aims to create more than 35 million jobs across the country over the next two years. Of these, approximately 19.2 million beneficiaries will be those who will receive formal employment for the first time. He said that under the leadership of Union Labor Minister Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya, remarkable work has been done in the field of labor and employment.

Minister Shri Dewangan stated that the state government’s new industrial policy has received widespread support from the industry, resulting in investment proposals worth ₹8 lakh crore so far. This is expected to create significant employment opportunities in the state.

Finance Minister Mr. O.P. Choudhary stated that during Prime Minister Mr. Modi’s 12 years in office, significant achievements have been made in the areas of employment, poverty alleviation, and economic development. He added that the new industrial policy implemented under the leadership of Chief Minister Mr. Vishnudev Sai places special emphasis on providing better employment opportunities to youth.

Lok Sabha MP Shri Brijmohan Agrawal stated that Prime Minister Shri Modi is continuously implementing innovation-based schemes to build a developed India. He noted that Chhattisgarh is home to prestigious institutions such as NIT, IIT, IIM, and National Law University. The Industry Department should take special initiatives to connect the youth of these institutions with skills development and employment. Industrial areas such as Nagarnar and Bailadila also offer extensive employment opportunities for trained youth.

Mr. Jayvardhan Ingle, head of the regional office of the Employees’ Provident Fund Organization, also spoke at the event. Guests also listened to Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s address broadcast from Vigyan Bhavan, New Delhi.
