- Instructions given to expedite paddy procurement, rice storage, farmer registration and godown construction works
/Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Protection Minister Mr. Dayaldas Baghel held a review meeting of Food Department officials today at the Ministry Mahanadi Bhawan, Nava Raipur. Food Secretary Mrs. Reena Baba Saheb Kangale, Food Director Dr. Fariya Alam, Managing Director of Civil Supplies Corporation Mr. Vilas Bhoskar Sandipan, Managing Director of Marketing Association Mr. Jitendra Shukla, General Manager of Food Corporation of India Mr. Deepak Sharma and other officials were present in the meeting.
In the meeting, Minister Mr. Baghel directed the Food Corporation of India and the Civil Supplies Corporation to accelerate the procurement of custom-milled rice for the Kharif marketing year 2025-26. Instructions were also given to ensure the timely storage and distribution of rice for the two months of September and October 2026. Instructions were also given regarding preparations for paddy procurement in the upcoming Kharif marketing year 2026-27, such as the provision of gunny bags and proper arrangements for paddy procurement at new procurement centers. Regarding farmer registration for the Kharif marketing year 2026-27, instructions were given to expedite the AgriStake registration process for the remaining farmers. Instructions were also given to reduce shortages at procurement centers and storage centers. The progress of warehouse construction at the State Warehousing Corporation was reviewed, and instructions were given to complete the warehouses under construction on time. While reviewing the weights and measures, instructions were given to verify the Dharamkanta before the start of paddy procurement. In the meeting, the Minister launched the departmental website regarding the city gas distribution scheme.
District Food Controller/Food Officer, District Marketing Officer, District Manager Civil Supplies Corporation, Manager State Warehousing Corporation and district level officers of Weights and Measures were present in the meeting.
