- CM interacts warmly with children from Sukma on educational tour under Niyad Nellanar Yojana
Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai met schoolchildren from remote villages of Sukma district at the Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly today. The children are visiting Raipur on an educational tour under the Niyad Nellanar Yojana. Interacting warmly with them, the Chief Minister enquired about their well-being and welcomed them to the state capital. He reiterated that ensuring a bright future for the children of Bastar is one of the state government’s top priorities. The government is committed to reaching every corner of Bastar with essential services such as education, healthcare, roads, electricity, and clean drinking water.
Speaking with affection, CM Sai said the educational tour gave the children an opportunity to experience Raipur up close. “In the same spirit, our government is accelerating development efforts across Bastar,” he said. He pointed out that security camps are now being established even in remote areas, and wherever these camps reach, holistic development follows. “Ration shops are being opened at more locations, and people are receiving benefits from various welfare schemes,” he added. The Chief Minister expressed confidence that Bastar would soon be completely free from Naxalism.
In a light-hearted moment, the Chief Minister smiled and asked, “So, have the lion-hearted children of Bastar seen the lion at Raipur Jungle Safari?” The question sparked laughter among the children and everyone present.
CM Sai further said the state government is working consistently toward building a self-reliant Bastar. “We are connecting local communities with dairy production to empower them economically. Alongside education, we are also creating employment opportunities at the local level to secure the future of Bastar’s children,” he said.
Deputy Chief Minister Shri Vijay Sharma, Forest Minister Shri Kedar Kashyap, and MLAs Shri Ishwar Sahu and Shri Sushant Shukla were also present on the occasion.
Notably, under the Niyad Nellanar Yojana, 100 schoolchildren from five remote Gram Panchayats of Sukma district — Palachalma, Potkapalli, Elmagunda, Tadmetla, and Golapalli — are on a two-day educational visit to Raipur. During the tour, the children had the opportunity to visit key sites such as the Secretariat, Jungle Safari, Railway Station, and the Airport. The Niyad Nellanar Yojana aims to provide educational exposure tours for children from five Naxal-affected districts of Bastar division.
