Under the ongoing Seva Sankalp Abhiyan in the region, activities are being organized to develop Anganwadi Centers as strong centers of nutrition, education and respect through the ‘Angan Milan Seva’ programme. In this order, Minister of Women and Child Development, Ms. Nirmala Bhuria, on Thursday, Bairagarh-based Anand T. Participating in the program organized in Sahni School. MLA Shri Rameshwar Sharma was also present in the program.
Minister Ms. Nirmala Bhuria said that Anganwadi Centers are not only limited to providing nutrition to children, but they are important centers related to early childhood education, health, nutrition and empowerment of women. The partnership between Anganwadi Centers and the community is being further strengthened through ‘Angan Milan Seva’ so that each Anganwadi can become a reliable support center for children and women of its area. He said that efforts are being made to strengthen the connection between Anganwadi centers and the community through ‘Angan Milan Seva’. Its objective is to ensure active participation of family and society in the care of pregnant and lactating mothers along with nutrition and early education of children. This initiative under Seva Sankalp Abhiyan is an important step in the direction of empowering Anganwadi Centers through public participation and bringing the spirit of ‘Seva, Poshan and Samman’ to every home.
- Maa Ke Bharose Ka Kendra Hai Anganwadi
MLA Shri Rameshwar Sharma said that Anganwadi Center is the center of Maa’s trust. The center’s worker and sahaiyaka fulfills the responsibility of aunts like Maa. The role of Anganwadi workers is very important in taking care of pregnant and lactating mothers along with nutrition, health and early education of children. Programs like ‘Angan Milan Seva’ will strengthen the connection between Anganwadi Centers and common people. He said that with the participation of the society, every Anganwadi can be made a strong center of nutrition, education, health and respect. For this, public representatives and citizens should also actively participate in Anganwadi activities while fulfilling their responsibilities.

Health check-up of children was also conducted in the program. Necessary examinations related to the health of the children were conducted by the health experts and attention was paid to their nutrition and health status. The importance of regular health check-ups and balanced nutrition for healthy development of children was also conveyed.
Minister Ms. Nirmala Bhuria inspected the Nutrition Exhibition. The exhibition showcased information related to balanced and nutritious diet, locally available nutritious foods and maternal and child nutrition. Minister Ms. Bhuria took note of the nutrition messages being conveyed through the exhibition and emphasized on inclusion of local and nutritious food items in the daily diet.
Minister Ms. Bhuria congratulated the pregnant women and wished them a healthy motherhood and safe delivery. Food baskets were also distributed to pregnant women on this occasion. The importance of nutritious and balanced diet during pregnancy was conveyed through food basket. God Bharai ceremony of pregnant women was also organized in the program. Anganwadi workers and assistants who have been working for more than 25 years were felicitated with wreaths and shawls on this occasion.
In the program Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav’s message was also heard. The Chief Minister’s message outlined the spirit of strengthening women and child welfare through service, nutrition and community participation.
Anganwadi workers and helpers along with local public representatives and community members were present in the program.
