The new Dalli-Rajhara–Rowghat rail line project marks a significant achievement in connecting the remote and tribal areas of southern Chhattisgarh with better rail connectivity. With the completion of the 17.5-km-long Tadoki–Rowghat rail section, the construction of the entire 95-km-long Dalli-Rajhara–Rowghat rail line has been concluded. Expressing happiness over this major milestone, Hon’ble Union Railway Minister Shri Ashwini Vaishnaw described it as a crucial achievement for strengthening rail connectivity in Chhattisgarh.
Sharing a video related to the project on his social media handles (Twitter/X and Instagram), Hon’ble Railway Minister Shri Ashwini Vaishnaw stated that the 95-km-long Dalli-Rajhara–Rowghat new rail line is bolstering connectivity in Chhattisgarh. He noted that the expansion of this rail connectivity would make it easier for people to access employment, education, healthcare services, and trade opportunities.
In line with the Hon’ble Railway Minister’s message, the Dalli-Rajhara–Rowghat rail line will play a pivotal role in linking the remote regions of southern Chhattisgarh to the broader rail network. This will provide better transportation options for residents of the surrounding rural and tribal areas while strengthening the region’s connectivity with major cities like Raipur and Bhilai. Improved rail links will facilitate easier access to opportunities in education, healthcare, employment, and trade.
Hon’ble Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh, Shri Vishnu Deo Sai, also took to social media to hail this achievement as a significant step towards bringing remote regions into the mainstream of development. He stated that the completion of the Tadoki-Raavghat section would open new avenues for development across the entire South Chhattisgarh region, including Bastar. The expansion of rail connectivity will not only facilitate easier travel but also strengthen the region’s links with Raipur and Bhilai, while accelerating new opportunities in education, healthcare, employment, and trade.
Honorable Union Minister of State Shri Tokhan Sahu also took to social media to describe the Dalli-Rajhara–Raavghat rail line as the beginning of a new era of connectivity for the tribal areas of Chhattisgarh. He noted that the project would open doors to new opportunities for the local population—ranging from improved transportation to prospects in education, employment, trade, and overall development.
Passenger rail services were already operational between Dalli-Rajhara and Tadoki. The completion of the final 17.5-kilometer Tadoki-Raavghat section has further extended the rail link from Dalli-Rajhara to Raavghat. This rail line will facilitate the transportation of agricultural produce and local commercial goods, likely boosting trade activities in the region.
This rail route is also crucial for transporting iron ore to the Bhilai Steel Plant. The line will streamline iron ore transport, providing the steel industry with essential logistical support.
Improved rail connectivity will also bolster prospects for tourism, investment, and other economic activities in the region. This will accelerate the socio-economic development of rural and remote areas in South Chhattisgarh and help integrate the region more firmly into the mainstream of development.
This milestone in the Dalli-Rajhara–Raavghat rail project reflects Indian Railways’ unwavering commitment to providing better connectivity and development opportunities to people through the expansion of rail infrastructure in remote areas.
