Davos/Ranchi

On the second day of the World Economic Forum (WEF) Annual Meeting 2026, Jharkhand continued its active participation in high-level global dialogues focused on energy transition, sustainable growth, and regional leadership. The State is being represented at the Forum by Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri Hemant Soren, who engaged with international policymakers, investors, and global institutions.

A key engagement of the day was the Hon’ble Chief Minister’s address at the Inter-Ministerial Dialogue at WEF 2026, held alongside Mr. Vazil Hudák, former Minister of Finance and Minister of Economy of Slovakia, and other global leaders. The dialogue centred on global cooperation frameworks for sustainable and inclusive economic growth. Following the address, an interactive exchange took place on renewable energy development, opportunities in heavy vehicle manufacturing, and the adoption of sustainability practices in horticulture, highlighting areas of mutual interest and collaboration.

The Hon’ble Chief Minister also participated in the high-level panel discussion titled “Capital in Action: Scaling Energy Systems Through Policy, Finance & Regional Leadership.” The discussion focused on the role of policy alignment, innovative financing, and sub-national leadership in accelerating clean energy systems and resilient economic models.

During the panel, Shri Hemant Soren highlighted the importance of state-led action in translating global climate and sustainability commitments into on-ground outcomes. He underscored Jharkhand’s efforts to align industrial growth with environmental responsibility, while creating employment opportunities and strengthening regional economic resilience.

Jharkhand’s engagements on Day 2 of WEF 2026 reflect the State’s growing role in global conversations on clean energy, sustainable industrialisation, and cooperative growth models. Through continued participation in ministerial dialogues and policy forums, Jharkhand is reinforcing its commitment to a balanced, future-ready, and sustainable development pathway.
