Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Government of India’s ambitious Pradhan Mantri Suryaghar Free Electricity Scheme is being effectively implemented in Chhattisgarh under the guidance of Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai. Through this scheme, which realizes the resolve of an energy-reliant India, many families in Korba district are moving from being electricity consumers to energy producers by adopting clean energy. This is providing them with significant savings on their electricity bills and an opportunity to make a significant contribution to environmental protection.
In the same vein, the state’s Minister for Industry, Commerce, Labor, and Excise, Mr. Lakhanlal Dewangan, also installed a 10-kilowatt solar rooftop system at his Kohadia residence under the scheme. He explained that he installed the solar plant at his residence to fulfill Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi’s pledge for an energy-reliant India and to reduce dependence on conventional electricity.
Minister Shri Dewangan stated that it has been almost a month since the solar panels were installed, and their positive results are now clearly visible. This is not only resulting in financial savings, but also contributing significantly to environmental protection through the use of clean and green energy.
He said that subsidies provided by the central and state governments under the Pradhan Mantri Suryaghar Free Electricity Scheme have made installing solar plants more convenient and beneficial for ordinary citizens. He explained that any excess electricity left after domestic use will be sent to the electricity distribution company’s grid, potentially generating additional revenue in the future.
Minister Shri Lakhanlal Dewangan appealed to the citizens of the state and Korba district to take maximum advantage of this scheme, saying that the Pradhan Mantri Suryaghar Free Electricity Scheme is not just a scheme, but a mass movement for energy self-reliance. It is providing people with the opportunity to become energy producers, not just electricity consumers. He called on citizens to participate in building a clean, safe, and self-reliant future by adopting solar energy.
Expressing gratitude to Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai for this public welfare initiative, he said that due to the commitment of the government, renewable energy is getting promoted in the state and the resolve for a developed Chhattisgarh is getting new momentum.
