- Invitation Extended to Governor to Attend Key Events of Bastar Dussehra
Maharaja Shri Kamal Chandra Bhanj Deo—the Mati Pujari (priest of the soil) and Rathpati (chariot chief) of the Bastar royal family—paid a courtesy visit to Governor Shri Ramen Deka at Lok Bhavan today. During the meeting, he invited the Governor to participate in the renowned, historic Bastar Dussehra festival.
Shri Bhanj Deo specifically invited the Governor to attend the ‘Maharaja Navakhai’ and ‘Maharaja Bahar Rahni’ ceremonies, which are integral parts of the Dussehra festivities. He also briefed the Governor on the unique religious and cultural traditions of Bastar Dussehra and the various events associated with the festival.
Governor Shri Deka expressed his gratitude for the invitation. He remarked that Bastar Dussehra is a symbol of Chhattisgarh’s rich cultural traditions and folk faith, noting that its unique customs lend a distinctive identity to the state’s cultural heritage.
