Law University implemented menstrual leave policy
The Hidayatullah National Law University, situated in Raipur, Chhattisgarh, has recently introduced a new policy granting menstrual leave to female students. This policy officially came into effect on 1 July 2024. This university is setting a precedent in the state as it becomes the first educational institution to offer menstrual leave, joining only five other government institutes in the country that have already implemented this policy.
The decision to provide menstrual leave to female students at Hidayatullah National Law University is a significant step towards addressing the specific needs of women. By acknowledging the challenges and discomfort that women may face during their menstrual cycles, the university is demonstrating its commitment to creating a supportive and inclusive environment for all students. This policy not only reflects a progressive approach to women’s health and well-being but also sets a positive example for other educational institutions to follow suit in prioritizing the needs of their female students.
