Minister Shri Guru Khuswant Saheb gave important instructions in the review meeting of Skill Development, Technical Education and Employment Department.

  • Detailed discussion was held on giving new impetus to youth skills, employment and technical education.

A departmental review meeting was held today at the Ministry’s Mahanadi Bhawan, chaired by Skill Development, Technical Education and Employment and Scheduled Caste Development Minister Shri Guru Khushwant Saheb. The meeting detailed a review of departmental schemes, training, placements, and progress related to technical education. Technical Education Secretary Dr. S. Bhartiya Dasan, Chief Executive Officer of the Chhattisgarh State Skill Development Agency Shri Vijay Dayaram K., and other senior officials were present on the occasion.

  • Continuously monitor the youth who complete the training for one year.    

            Discussing various aspects of skill development, technical education, and employment at the meeting, Minister Saheb gave important instructions to departmental officials. He emphasized the need to make the tracking system for employed youth more effective after training. He urged that a detailed action plan be developed for continuous monitoring of youth who obtain employment after completing training, and that budgetary provisions be ensured if necessary. Emphasis was placed on establishing the necessary linkage between the CSSDA portal and the Employment Exchange to ensure the actual employment registration of youth. He also directed that the necessary linkage be established between the VTP and the VTP to ensure that progress is made on the 2026-27 annual action plan. 

  • Include Maoist-affected districts in residential training

          The meeting also directed that the employer and employment details submitted by the TJS institutions be verified and the actual placements of the youth in the training batches be confirmed. Proposals were requested to include Maoist-affected districts, including Manpur-Mohla and Gariaband, in the residential training program. Instructions were also given to prepare a district-wise action plan for a special training campaign for surrendered Maoist youth.

  • Strengthen the quality of vocational training and certification processes

         Minister Shri Saheb said that the progress report of all departmental proceedings should be presented first in the next meeting. The need for a detailed discussion was stated on the issue of branch change of 08 students of CGITI Jashpur. Instructions were given to strengthen the quality and certification process of vocational training, and to develop a monitoring system. Instructions were given to collect information about placement companies coming to NIT and IIT and to establish coordination with those companies regarding the placement of the state’s government engineering and polytechnic students.

  • Develop an integrated training and placement portal

         Emphasis was placed on advancing the grading process of polytechnic institutes and preparing all institutes for NBA accreditation. ITI Korba was directed to include the necessary proposal in the 2026–27 budget to convert it into a CGIT with chemical and mining branches from the academic session 2027–28. CSVTU was also directed to develop an integrated training and placement portal for all institutes, monitor data, and provide its login ID to the Directorate of Technical Education.

  • To promote innovations in ITIs and improve quality and efficiency. 

        At the beginning of the meeting, the Secretary presented detailed information about the PM-SETU scheme. Following this, the Minister directed that all necessary procedures be completed expeditiously to include as many clusters in the state as possible under the scheme. He urged efforts to introduce new agriculture-based trades, while keeping in mind local industries and employment needs. Each ITI was directed to identify one to two trades that could be developed as the institution’s USP, enhancing both the institution’s identity and the trainees’ competencies. Instructions were given to complete the procurement process of tools and equipment in a timely manner to ensure timely commencement of training activities. The Minister also stressed the need to promote innovation at the department and IIT levels to improve the quality and efficiency of training.

  • Employment fairs should provide maximum employment opportunities to trained youth. 

         Minister Shri Saheb directed that the CSSDA portal be linked to e-rojgar to display information on candidates receiving skill training and employment on the e-rojgar portal. He directed that necessary action be taken after discussing obtaining sponsorship from CSIDC for organizing a state-level employment fair. He also directed that the necessary budget for organizing the employment fair be sought from the contingency fund, so that maximum employment opportunities can be provided to the youth.
