Women and Child Development and Social Welfare Minister Smt. Laxmi Rajwade today held a departmental meeting through video conferencing from the Collectorate meeting room in Khairagarh with Principal Secretary of Women and Child Development Department Smt. Shehla Nigar and Director Dr. Renuka Srivastava along with district program officers of all the districts of the state. While reviewing the activities being conducted across the state under Seva Sankalp Abhiyan and 9th National Nutrition Month in the meeting, Minister Smt. Rajwade gave instructions for effective implementation of the campaigns by linking them with public participation.
Minister Smt. Rajwade said that the objective of the Seva Sankalp Abhiyan is to strengthen the spirit of public service and to connect every segment of society with development and service work. She instructed officials to ensure maximum public participation through the campaign and to spread the spirit of service to every person.
He emphasized on making Anganwadi centers effective centers of nutrition, health, care and early childhood development activities in line with the spirit of “Our Anganwadi, Our Responsibility” under the 9th National Nutrition Month. The Minister directed to promote dietary diversity, adequate protein, balanced diet and use of local nutrition sources to improve the nutritional level of children, mothers and women.
Mrs. Rajwade stated that the success of nutrition-related campaigns is not limited to departmental activities alone, but requires active community participation. She directed that nutrition awareness activities be expanded by involving Anganwadi workers, assistants, public representatives, voluntary organizations, and the local community.
The meeting reviewed the progress of nutrition and public participation activities being conducted in the districts, and discussed the action plan for upcoming activities. Minister Rajwade directed officials to ensure effective implementation of both campaigns and ensure their objectives and messages reach every village and family in the state.
