Mudvendi, a small village in Bijapur district, which had been suffering from the pain of Maoism for years, has now become an example of change. Located about 35-40 kilometers from the district headquarters, this village is now not only connected with pure drinking water and paved road, but now electricity has also knocked here. All this has been possible due to the vision of Chief Minister Shri Vishnudev Sai and the Niyada Nellnar scheme.

Only 45 families live in this village, but the change that has come in their lives in recent times is unprecedented. Earlier, darkness used to descend as soon as evening fell and even taking a single step at night was risky, but now with the advent of electricity, not only have homes been illuminated, but a flame of hope has also been lit in the hearts of the villagers.

This village, which was cut off from the mainstream of development for a long time due to Maoist violence, is now getting basic facilities like roads, electricity, water. This change is not limited to facilities only, but its effect is clearly visible on social and educational life as well.

Mr. Hunra Kunjam, a resident of the village, says, electricity has reached our village after many years. Earlier, where children could not study in the dark, now children are studying comfortably even at night. Also, there is relief from the danger of snakes, scorpions and wild animals. Hunra Kunjam says that under the Niyad Nellnar scheme, the school which was closed for years has now started again. After a gap of one generation, the children of the village are now getting the opportunity to study in their own village. For the villagers, this is like a dream come true.

Mr. Lakhma Kunjam of the same village says, there is a festive atmosphere in the village due to the arrival of electricity. Now household chores are done easily even at night, children study and the village feels safer than ever before.
