- 78-year-old Vanjam Chingye’s age-old card made
Under the sensitive initiative of Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai, the Ayushman Bharat Saturation Campaign is being implemented to provide healthcare services to remote and Naxal-affected areas. During this campaign, an inspiring example emerged in the village of Punpalli (Dubbatota), Development Block Konta, Sukma district.
The Health Department team visited the home of 78-year-old Naxalite victim Mrs. Vanjam Chingay and verified her documents and created a Vaya Vandan card. She will now be able to receive free treatment up to ₹5 lakh under the Ayushman Bharat scheme at government and designated hospitals.
Mrs. Vanjam Chingay’s life was filled with struggles for a long time. Her husband, the late Vanjam Deve, was killed in Naxal violence in 2006. Afterward, she lived a life of hardship. At that time, the arrival of the administration to ensure her health was a moment of great relief and honor.
Ayushman cards were issued for a large number of villagers at the camp, and health checkups were also provided. During the screening, four patients were found to be malaria positive, and treatment was initiated immediately. Three patients were referred to the Community Health Center, Dornapal, for better treatment.
The Ayushman Bharat Saturation Campaign aims to provide health coverage to every eligible individual in remote and formerly Naxal-affected areas. This campaign is not limited to card-making, but is also serving as a means to provide timely treatment and better healthcare services to people.
The story of Mrs. Vanjam Chingye shows that when governance schemes reach the last person, they not only provide convenience but also become the basis for respect, security and new confidence.
