Under the leadership of Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai, Jashpur district is advancing towards new milestones in the fields of health and medical education. Preparations are underway to establish a physiotherapy college in Kandora village, located in the Kunkuri development block. Initially, the college will operate from a high school building constructed at a cost of approximately ₹1.10 crore. Plans are in place to commence admissions for 50 seats starting this academic session. This initiative will provide local students with the opportunity to pursue vocational education in the vital healthcare field of physiotherapy.

The decision to operate a physiotherapy college here follows the denial of permission to run a high school in the newly constructed Kandora building; the government decided to utilize the existing infrastructure effectively. Under CM Shri Sai’s leadership, this initiative marks a significant step towards strengthening Jashpur in the sectors of health and medical education.

  • Preparations for 50-seat intake; students to get higher education opportunities within the district

Preparations are currently underway to begin college operations with an initial intake of 50 students. This will help reduce students’ dependence on other cities for professional education in physiotherapy.

The operation of the college will also assist in developing the trained human resources needed for the healthcare sector. Students will gain opportunities for both theoretical and practical education in physiotherapy, thereby enhancing future prospects for employment and self-employment in the healthcare field.

  • Expansion of physiotherapy treatment facilities to benefit patients as well

The benefits of establishing a physiotherapy college in the district will not be limited to students alone; it will also pave the way for the future expansion of healthcare services. Currently, many patients from the district have to travel to other cities for physiotherapy treatment. The local expansion of physiotherapy education and specialized services will increase the likelihood of providing better treatment facilities to such patients.

The college will facilitate the development of trained human resources and boost the growth of physiotherapy services, thereby helping to strengthen the district’s healthcare system.
