Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi during the discussion on Catch the Rain Mission in Man Ki Baat mentioned the works for water conservation in Sidhi and Narsinghpur of the region and appreciated the efforts of the state government. Prime Minister Shri Modi said that around 1500 ponds have been constructed in Sidhi district of Madhya Pradesh, Amrit lakes have been restored in Narsinghpur. He said that it is necessary to make a mass movement for the campaign to save the rain. Prime Minister Shri Modi challenged the countrymen to take responsibility for the ponds, wells and cesspools around them and come together in the campaign to save every drop of water. Prime Minister Shri Modi said that every drop saved today is the biggest capital of future generations. Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav listened to Prime Minister Shri Modi’s “Mann Ki Baat” program at Kanchana Ghat in Orchha, a tourist and religious city of Niwadi district. Panchayat and Rural Development Minister Shri Prahlad Singh Patel, Social Justice, Disability Welfare, Horticulture and Food Processing Minister and Niwadi District In-charge Minister Shri Narayan Singh Kushwaha along with public representatives and locals were present on this occasion.
- Jahan Jab Barish Gire– Save the water

Prime Minister Shri Modi said that the message of Catch the Rain is very simple, Jahan Jab Barish Gire, Pani Ko Vahi Saghiye, that’s why a special campaign is also being run across the country from July 4, under which new momentum is being given to rainwater harvesting, ground water recharge, revival of flood water sources and tree plantation. Be it a village or a city, be it a panchayat or a social organization. Somewhere silt is being removed from old ponds, some wells and cisterns are being revived. Closed borewells are now becoming the medium for ground water recharge. Prime Minister Shri Modi also mentioned the encouraging results of the work done in Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Orissa in Man Ki Baat. Rajya Sabha MP Shri Mahesh Kewat, MLA Judge Shri Anil Jain were also present on this occasion.
