- An innovation to protect children from burns caused by hot electric irons
Student Krishna Agrawal has developed an innovative model called ‘Flip Electric Iron For Child Safety.’ Its purpose is to protect young children from burn accidents caused by hot electric irons used in households. The model incorporates ‘auto-flip’ technology, which ensures that the hot surface of the iron faces upward the moment it is released. Additionally, it includes safety features such as an automatic shut-off function (after 30 seconds of inactivity) and a child lock. Developed at a low cost, this model could prove highly useful for household safety.
- Selected among the top 62 out of 80,000 innovative ideas
Out of approximately 80,000 innovative ideas submitted from Chhattisgarh, Krishna Agrawal’s model was selected as one of the top 62. His project has also been included in the ‘INSPIRE MANAK-2026’ compendium. This initiative—supported by the Department of Science and Technology and the National Innovation Foundation–India—aims to foster and promote the scientific talent and innovations of students at a national level.
