- Deputy Chief Minister reviews progress of construction works and schemes
Deputy Chief Minister Shri Arun Saw reviewed the works of Public Works, Public Health Engineering, Urban Administration and Development and Sports and Youth Welfare Department at Kondagaon district headquarters. He directed to complete the necessary preparations on time before the rainy season in the three urban bodies of the district, Kondagaon, Keshkal and Farasgaon, to provide pure drinking water to the citizens and to maintain a strong sanitation system. He also stressed on completing the road, bridge and culvert construction works with quality and within the stipulated time limit.
Deputy Chief Minister Mr. Saw said in the meeting that Kondagaon district is full of immense development potential. The construction of the Keshkal Ghat bypass will give the area’s development a new impetus, so work in a planned manner, keeping future needs in mind. He instructed officials to adopt an effective work style, utilize new technologies, and ensure prompt resolution of problems.

Mr. Saw said that due to Naxalism, this region has long awaited development, but now the situation has changed. He urged all officials to work with full energy, capacity, and commitment to ensure development reaches remote and forested areas. He said that it is everyone’s responsibility to ensure the benefits of government schemes reach the last person, and working together as a team is essential for this.
During the review of the Urban Administration Department, the Deputy Chief Minister directed all Chief Municipal Officers to complete the cleaning of drains before the rainy season. He also instructed officials to ensure regular checking of the quality of drinking water and mandatory morning visits. He also emphasized the need for regular morning visits. He also urged the completion of rainwater harvesting projects in a mission mode and the widespread publicity of the Pradhan Mantri Svanidhi Yojana to benefit eligible beneficiaries. He placed special emphasis on ensuring that all urban bodies are clean, beautiful, and well-equipped.
During the review of the Public Health Engineering Department, the Deputy Chief Minister strictly instructed officials to achieve the desired progress in the Jal Jeevan Mission. He directed them to conduct regular field inspections of all construction and drinking water schemes and ensure uninterrupted and quality drinking water supply in rural areas. During the review of the Public Works Department, he assessed the progress of ongoing road, bridge, and building construction projects and directed them to expedite the work and complete them within the stipulated timeframe. During the review of the Sports Department, he urged the coordinated and effective organization of sports activities.

The meeting reviewed the progress of various departmental schemes and works, including water supply projects, sewage treatment plant (STP) construction, solid waste management, Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban), aspirational toilet construction, revenue collection, national highway projects. Kondagaon Collector Mrs. Nupur Rashi Panna, Superintendent of Police Mr. Pankaj Chandra, District Panchayat Chairperson Mrs. Rita Shori, and all district-level officials, including senior officials from the head offices of the four departments, were also present at the meeting.
