Raigarh created a record in PM housing construction

  • First of all 25 thousand houses were completed in the state

Raigarh district has achieved a major milestone under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana. The district has created history by completing the construction of 25 thousand houses first in the state out of the PM houses approved in the year 2024-25. As of today, 25,041 houses have been completed in the district.

The dream of a concrete house for poor families is now turning into reality. This has been possible due to the work done in a planned and mission mode in the district. Under the leadership of Collector Shri Mayank Chaturvedi and under the guidance of District Panchayat CEO Shri Jitendra Yadav, work was done in mission mode from the district to the village panchayat level. A planned strategy was adopted to complete the housing construction process within the time limit. Timely payment of installments after housing approval, motivating beneficiaries for construction, ensuring availability of raw material and activeness of the field staff played an important role in achieving this goal.

There was continuous inspection, problem solving, and review of progress village-wise by senior officials in the district. Instructions were given for immediate improvement in the areas performing poorly and disciplinary action was also taken as required. Especially in the summer months, the target was set to complete maximum houses before the onset of rains by carrying out construction work at a fast pace, which was accomplished very efficiently. This success is not just a matter of numbers, but the realization of the dream of thousands of poor families to live in a concrete house.
