Ration cardholders are entitled to regular distribution of ration.

It is known that the sub-divisional officer of revenue conducted an inspection of the ration shops in the Sahaspur Lohara development block of the district. During the inspection, it was found that the ration allocation for the month of July 2024 was stored in the ration shops, and the shopkeepers distributed rations to 250 cardholders on July 24 and 25, 2024, by marking their fingerprints in “biometric” mode. The food inspector present in Sahaspur Lohara was informed by the village head of Rakse and other villagers that the ration cardholders who had undergone biometric verification by the supplier were given rations yesterday, and the remaining cardholders were being distributed rations.

The sub-divisional officer of revenue had convened a meeting with all eligible ration cardholders of the appropriate value shopkeepers in the Janpad Panchayat Sahaspur Lohara to give directions for ration distribution, and the shopkeepers complied with these instructions. The inspection revealed that the biometrically verified ration cardholders had already received their rations, and the distribution process was ongoing for the remaining cardholders. The village head and other villagers confirmed this information during the inspection conducted by the food inspector in Sahaspur Lohara.

The inspection highlighted the importance of following the guidelines set by the revenue department to ensure the proper distribution of rations to all eligible cardholders. The biometric verification process facilitated the efficient distribution of rations to the beneficiaries, and the cooperation of the shopkeepers in adhering to the directives was commendable. The food inspector’s presence during the inspection ensured that the distribution process was carried out smoothly and that all eligible cardholders received their allocated rations in a timely manner.
