Regular rations bring relief to families, saving money for other household needs

  • Foodgrain schemes became a source of support for Jaya Devi and Shivamala Devi

Public welfare schemes under the Seva Sankalp Abhiyan are bringing relief to the lives of needy families. For Mrs. Jaya Devi and Mrs. Shivmala Devi of Balrampur, regular rations from the Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana and the Chief Minister’s Food Security Scheme have been a support in running their households.

Mrs. Jaya Devi, a resident of Ward No. 11 in Balrampur, receives rice, chickpeas, and salt every month from the government fair price shop. She explains that previously, arranging a month’s ration was a major concern. Now, with timely rations, she meets her food needs, and the remaining funds are used for her children’s education and other household needs. In her words, “Receiving rations every month helps a lot in running the household.”

Mrs. Shivmala Devi’s family also receives regular food grains from the fair price shop, as per their eligibility. She says this has reduced the worry about monthly rations and made managing the family budget easier. Regular food grains have become a source of relief and security for her family.

Both women expressed their gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai for ensuring food grains reach families in need. The experiences of Mrs. Jaya Devi and Mrs. Shivamala Devi demonstrate that timely rations not only meet a family’s food needs but also create financial space for other essential expenses.
