Rakshabandhan is a festival of unbreakable love, trust, and intimacy between brothers and sisters. This spirit of this sacred festival came alive on Wednesday in the village of Pandripani in the Farsabahar development block of Jashpur district, when a large number of mothers and sisters from the area tied Rakhi on the wrist of Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai. The Chief Minister also expressed his affection and respect for the sisters by presenting them gifts. The entire program reflected the intimate relationship between brothers and sisters, as well as the government’s commitment to the respect, safety, and empowerment of sisters.
At the “Rakshabandhan and Dialogue with Sisters” program organized in village Pandripani, Chief Minister Shri Sai had a cordial conversation with the sisters and listened to their stories. He said that Rakshabandhan is not only a festival of brother-sister love, but also an opportunity to reiterate our responsibility towards the respect, safety and happy future of sisters. The state government is continuously working with the aim of making every mother and sister of Chhattisgarh self-reliant, providing them opportunities to progress, and strengthening their role in family and social decisions.
Chief Minister Shri Sai said that respect and empowerment of women is the strong foundation of a prosperous Chhattisgarh. When women are economically and socially empowered, it positively impacts the entire family, and family prosperity paves the way for progress in society and the state. Respect, self-reliance, and a better future for mothers and sisters are at the core of the state government’s schemes.
- Gift of development works to Pandripani
On this occasion, Chief Minister Shri Sai inaugurated and performed Bhoomi Pujan for various development works worth approximately ₹64 lakh in the village of Pandripani. These included the inauguration of the Mahtari Sadan. The Chief Minister said that the Mahtari Sadan will become a center for collective efforts, economic activities, and self-reliance for the women of the village.
The Mahtari Sadan is equipped with essential amenities for women, including meeting rooms, training facilities, a kitchen, and toilets. This will provide women’s self-help groups and women’s organizations with a comfortable and respectable space to hold meetings, train, and conduct various livelihood activities.
At the event, Chief Minister Shri Sai also announced the construction of Mahtari Sadan in the Gram Panchayats of Farsabahar and Bhelwa. He also informed them that ₹3.23 crore has been approved for the construction of a road from the main road to Dani Moda Basti. The Chief Minister stated that improving village infrastructure and making life easier for women and rural families is a priority for the government.
- Mahatari Vandan gave financial confidence to the sisters
Chief Minister Shri Vishnudev Sai, referring to the state government’s ambitious Mahatari Vandan Yojana aimed at women’s empowerment, said that through this scheme, financial assistance of one thousand rupees per month is being provided to women in the state. This amount not only provides financial support to women for their needs, both large and small, but also strengthens their self-confidence.
He informed that in view of the sacred festival of Rakshabandhan, an amount of more than ₹631 crore was recently transferred to the accounts of more than 6.7 million mothers and sisters in the state as the 31st installment of the Mahatari Vandan Yojana. In view of the festival, the amount for the month of September was released in advance so that sisters could celebrate Rakshabandhan with enthusiasm and joy.
The Chief Minister said that the government’s goal is not simply to provide financial assistance. The government’s broader objective is to empower women financially, connect their skills with opportunities, and strengthen their role in the development of their families and society. Through women’s self-help groups, the state’s women are setting new examples of self-reliance by engaging in various livelihood activities.
- Government services are now easier, solutions are also faster
Chief Minister Shri Vishnudev Sai said that the true objective of good governance is to provide government services to the people with simplicity and transparency. To this end, more than 700 services from 36 departments have been made available online through Seva Setu. This has reduced the need for citizens to visit offices for various government services.
He stated that Atal Digital Service Centers are being launched to promote financial inclusion in rural areas. Meanwhile, the Chief Minister’s Helpline 1076 has been launched to quickly resolve public issues. The Chief Minister stated that technology is being increasingly utilized with the goal of ensuring that the benefits of government schemes and services reach the last person in society easily and that their problems are resolved in a timely manner.
- Women self-help groups get financial support
During the program, Chief Minister Shri Vishnudev Sai presented checks to women self-help groups to expand their economic and livelihood activities. Mongra Self-Help Group, Bhagora; Vaishnavi Self-Help Group, Kandaibahar and Chand Self-Help Group, Kandaibahar were provided assistance of ₹1.50 lakh each, and Pratigya Group, Bara Basti was provided assistance of ₹1 lakh.
Chief Minister Shri Vishnudev Sai, while encouraging the women’s groups, said that self-help groups are strengthening the rural economy and becoming an effective means of women’s self-reliance. The financial assistance will help the groups expand their self-employment and livelihood activities and create new income opportunities at the local level.
- Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana for the secure future of daughters
At the event, girls Meenakshi Yadav and Shreya Pankra were presented with account passbooks under the Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana. Information was also provided on the occasion about schemes designed to secure the future and financial empowerment of girls. The Chief Minister stated that providing girls with education, security, and equal opportunities for advancement is a priority of the government.
- Ownership Scheme beneficiaries receive rights records
Chief Minister Shri Sai also distributed leases to five beneficiaries under the Swamitva Yojana at the event. These included Haravati of village Bokhi, Jagmani of village Vangaon, Rajmani of village Konpara, Lakshmi of village Bhagora, and Sumitra of village Teline. This will provide beneficiaries with documentary protection along with rights to their property.

Addressing the program, Pathalgaon MLA Smt. Gomti Sai warmly greeted the mothers and sisters present. She said that Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai has made women’s respect and economic independence a priority of the government. Women receive monthly financial assistance through the Mahtari Vandan Yojana, while through Mahtari Sadan, women in villages have access to a respectable space for their meetings, training, and activities.
Mrs. Gomti Sai expressed her gratitude to the Chief Minister, calling the opening of the SBI branch in Pandripani an important gift for the region. She said that Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai is the ‘Vishnu Bhaiya’ of the sisters of entire Chhattisgarh and is continuously working for their respect, security, self-reliance and welfare.
MLA Pathalgaon Smt. Gomti Sai, Collector Mr. Rohit Vyas, SSP Dr. Lal Umed Singh, District Panchayat CEO Mr. Abhishek Kumar along with other public representatives, officers and a large number of mothers and sisters of the area were present in the program.
