Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has said that the hard work of the farmers of Raisen is making a splash in the ‘global market’. Basmati rice is in demand in 47 countries of the world today. Basmati exports of around Rs 1800 crore last year. The world has come to know Risen not only from Sanchi, Bhimbetka and Bhojpur but also from Basmati and wheat flavors. It is also a matter of happiness that the farmers of Raisen are now cultivating fruits and vegetables on a large scale in addition to traditional crops. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav was addressing the Balaram Krishi Mahotsav organized in Raisen virtually from Samatva Bhavan located at the Chief Minister’s residence. Former Minister Shri Surendra Patwa and Additional Chief Secretary Shri Neeraj Mandaloi were also present.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that Risen is going to benefit from Ken-Betwa National River Linking Project in the near future, which will lead to an unprecedented increase in irrigation capacity. Farmers’ fields are like shrines for us and their grains are like prasad for us. From seed to market, the government is with the farmers. Farmers will continue to get loans at zero percent interest without any interest. One year will be given to repay the loan. Thousands of farmers are being given the benefit of loans and schemes by removing the old irregularities of cooperative accounts. Moong and urad ka uparjan continues. A record 104 lakh metric tonnes of wheat has been procured from farmers with MSP and bonus.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that farmers are being linked with processing, branding and marketing. We are strengthening the value chain of agricultural products by expanding food parks, cold chain and agro processing infrastructure. Efforts are on to increase production and farmers’ income through technology, innovation. The target is to increase milk production from 12 percent to 20 percent. A modern ‘fish hatchery’ will be developed in every district.
- Raisen district will get the benefit of developing road projects
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav appealed to the farmers not to sell their agricultural land to anyone. He said that the benefit of the road projects being developed around Bhopal will be given to Raisen district. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav appealed to the farmers to take every possible advantage of the activities conducted in Balram Agricultural Festival. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav also extended warm greetings and best wishes for Hariyali Teej, Independence Day, Rakshabandhan and Janmashtami. In the program organized in Raisen, Minister of State Shri Narendra Shivaji Patel, former Minister Dr. Prabhuram Chaudhary and other public representatives were present.
