On 25th September 2025, under the Swachhta Hi Seva – Swachhotsav 2025 campaign, SECL organized a special cleanliness drive at the Chhath Ghat of Arpa River, Bilaspur, as part of the “1 Ghanta – 1 Din – 1 Sath” activity.
This initiative, held for the fifth consecutive year, saw the participation of around 100 SECL family volunteers.
Under the leadership of CMD Shri Harish Duhan and in the presence of senior officials, Team SECL carried out the drive to clean and beautify the banks of the Arpa River.
Volunteers collected garbage from the ghat premises, filled them in bags, and removed plastic bottles and other waste. Within an hour, their collective effort not only transformed the appearance of the ghat but also sent out a strong message of cleanliness to the local community.
CMD Shri Harish Duhan said, “SECL in addition to meeting nation’s energy needs also believes in fulfilling social responsibilities. The cleanliness drive teaches us that when we come together, positive change is always possible. This initiative reflects both our faith and responsibility towards the Arpa River.”
During the drive, volunteers raised slogans of “Cleanliness is Service” and appealed to all to contribute collectively towards building a clean and healthy society.
This effort by SECL goes beyond the cleanliness of rivers and ghats—it also promotes public awareness and a sense of civic responsibility.
